Abstract

Understanding of concepts, of students not optimal while learning process in math department caused by less variation of teaching method. The effort to solve these problem by using cooperative learning model. The purpose of this research was to know the student’s: 1) understanding of consept, communication ability, problem solving of math students follow learning cooperative learning model type STAD better than understanding of concept, communication ability, problem solving ability of students attending a convensional learning.This research imposition made STKIP PGRI Padang students taking courses in Ordinary Differential Equations 2010/2011 academic year. Experimental research done to compare two treatment through sample class. Data were collected through the test results of study and observation. Results of analysis of data showed that Understanding math concepts students attending a model of cooperative learning type STAD better than understanding of math concepts of students attending conventional.

Abstract

The research was motivated by the lack of ability of the student in constructing their own knowledge and comprehension of mathematical concept student are still low. Resolve the issue applied a strategy of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). The study aims to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning. This type of research is the design of the random experiment eith the subject. Populasi in this study is the eight grade student of SMPN 1 Gunung Tuleh. Random sampling is done perpetually, as the experiment class is VIII5 class and control class is the class VIII1. This research instrument is the ultimate test with indicator student comprehension of mathematical concepts. Form of test used is a form of essay that valid and reliabel. Based on the test result obtained by the hypothesis P-value = 0,001 at significance level  = 0,05, since P-value  , reject H0 and accept H1. Thus, it can be concluded that student comprehension of mathematical consep using strategies of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is better than the student comprehension of mathematical concepst with convensional learning on eight grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Gunung Tuleh

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low of students’ achievement, it cause the less optimal of students in response to the learning,  the students just keep silent when the teacher asked, and just accept what the teacher teaches. This research is  aims to determine whether the results of students mathematics in learning with implementing of cooperative learning type Team Assisted Individualization with portfolio was better than the result of conventional learning mathematics of  grade students VII SMPN 3 Sungai Limau Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. type of this research is experimental research by using the random subject. Based on the value of learning outcomes that uses the type Team Assisted Individualization portfolio is accompanied by increase of the data analysis showed that the average value of the experimental class was 78.70 higher than the control class 65.67. It can be concluded that, the students’ result by applying the type of Team Assisted Individualization with portfolio is better than conventional learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by lock studentscomprehension of mathematical concepts. The students are less able to define the core of the learning material submitted by teachers and students who are less responsible in doing tast at the eighth grade students of SMPN 3 Basa Ampek Balai. This study aims to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts class VIII SMPN 3 Basa Ampek Balai used Cooperative Learning tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) used traditional models with media three charts better than conventional learning. The type of research study design randomized experiment with the subject. The instruments that is used in the study is a test of the ability of comprehension mathematical concepts. The final test is essay shaped with a reliability test was 0,76. Hypothesis test results with MINITAB obtained p-value is 0,009, then the hypothesis in this study received. So, it can be concluded that the capabilities students comprehension of mathematical concepts apply cooperative learning models NHT type charts with three media better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 3 Basa Ampek Balai in year 2012-2013  WITH 95% confidence level.

Abstract

The background of this research is the low of the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts, so that most of the student’s get the score under Criteria Minimum Masteri (KKM),  the students do not active a long the learning process. The purpose of this research is to sint out the student’s learning activiti a long the application of active learning type Class Concern and to now that the student’s understanding mathematical concept by using active learning Class Concern strategi more better than the student’s  understanding of mathematical concepts by using conventional learning in class eight of SMN 1 Tigo Nagari. The study of this research is experimental, by design random experiment to ward tha subject. The population of this study is student’s of class eighth SMPN 1 Tigo Nagari that consist of six classes. The sampel take by using random sampling tecnique. The instrument of this research is the observation paper of student’s activities and the test of understanding mathematical concept. The technique of analyzing data of this research is T-test one hide by MINITAB. Based on the analizing data, the researcer know that basth of the sampel class have normal distribution and homogeneus  in α=0,05. Hypothesis test the researcer get P-value=0,008 smaller than α=0,05, so hypothesis of this peaser is acceped. So that researcer can conclude that It the students understanding of mathematical concepts by using Aktive learning type Class Concern better than students with an understanding of the mathematical concept learning in class VIII conventional SMPN 1 Tigo Nagari.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the study understanding of mathematical concepts still lace. The aims of this research is for knowing the achievement of indicator of students’ understanding of mathematical concepts at eight grade by applying Reciprocal Teaching approach with quiz are better than students’ understanding mathematical concept by applying conventional learning in SMPN 6 Gunung Talang Solok Regency. The kind of this research is experiment research by random design towards subject. The population of this research is students’ who are at eight grade in SMPN 6 Gunung Talang in 2013/2014 academic years. The sample of the class which is chosen is VIIID class as the experiment class and VIIIB class as the control class. Form of the quiz and the test is essay and after result of the analysis questions and got the reliable question. Based on the hypothesis testing got P-value 0, 001 less from α that is 0,05. The conclusion of this research that is students’ understanding of mathematical concept by applying Reciprocal Teaching approach with quiz are better than students’ understanding mathematical concept at eight class in SMPN 6 Gunung Talang Solok Regency.

Abstract

 The background of this research is the low understanding of mathematical concept and study enthusiasm of VIII grade students of MTsN Gurun Panjang. This research is purposed to find out that the student’s mathematical concept with Sucker Ball game along with handout is better than students mathematical concept with conventional learning in VIII grade students of MTsN Gurun Panjang year 2012/2013. The type of this research is experimental research, with research design random to the subject. The population in this research is VIII grade students of MTsN Gurun Panjang years 2012/2013 which is consist of three classes. The sampling technique is random, the class is VIII.1 class, and the control class is VIII.2 class. The instrumentation of this research is mathematical concept understanding test. The form of the test is essay. The data analysis technique is t- examination which is supported by Minitab software. Be based on the data analysis was known that both of the sample class have the normal distribution and the homogeneity at  level. The result of hypotheses is P-value = 0,000 is lower than, so the hypotheses of this research are accepted. It can be conluded the matematical concept of students who implemented the Sucker Ball game along with handout is better than the mathematical concept of students who implimen hte conventional learning is VIII grade of MTsN Gurun Panjang, years 2012/2013.

Abstract

The research was background by the student comprehension of mathematical concept are still low at SMPN 1 Lengayang. Research purposes to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts using Strategy Rotating Trio Exchange better than students with an comprehension of mathematical concepts by using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 1 Lengayang. Type of research to design experiments by using Randomized for Subject. The research instrument was a test, the reliability r11 = 0.71. The data analysis technique used is the one party t final test, tcount = 2,30 > ttable = 1,64, then the hypothesis is accepted, So it can be concluded that the students’ comprehension of mathematical concepts by using strategies Rotating Trio Exhange better than students comprehension of mathematical concepts by using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN1 Lengayang.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the fact that the students’ understanding on mathematics concepts was still low and they were less active in the learning process. The aim of this research was to reveal the effect of using Make A Match cooperative learning model on the students’ activities, and to see whether the use of this model could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concepts better than that of the conventional one in class VIII of SMPN 2 Panyabunagn Kota. This experimental research applied random design toward the subject. The population of the research was the students in class VIII of SMPN 2 Panyabungan Kota. The instruments used were observation sheet and a test which had been tested. The data then was analyzed by using one way t-test. The result of data analysis indicated that there was an improvement on the students’ activity in respective meeting. In addition, the result of hypothesis test showed that tcalculated > ttable, therefore, the hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, the use of Make A Match cooperative learning model could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concepts better than that of the conventional one in class VIII of SMPN 2 Panyabungan Kota.

Abstract

The research was due to the lack of students’ activities and students were bit afraid of asking questions to the teacher, instead, the preferred asking to their peers. The research aimed at describing students’ activities during the implementation of peer Tutor with a Portfolio evaluation. It was to see whether the implementation better than conventional learning technique. The design was experimental research. The population was stucents grade VIII at SMPN 4 Pancung Soal. They were VIII1, VIII2, VIII3, VIII4. Using random sampling technique, grade VIII1 was chosen as the experimental group, while grade VIII2 as the control group. The instrument used was observation sheet and essay mathematic test. From the test reliability, the learning outcome of learning with the implementation of peer tutor with portfolio evaluation was obtained.Based on the analysis of observation sheet, there was an improvement of students’ activities during the teaching and learning process and the data analysis obtained was distributed homogeny and normal. Based on the analysis of hypothesis, it was obtained that the p-value= 0,012 was < α=0,05. Thus, the hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded thet students’ math concept understanding using peer tutor technique with a portfolio evaluation was better than that of conventional technique.
