Abstract

The purpose of this study was to look atthe role of forest village communities in supporting activity counseling and see whether there is a relationship between the factors Age, Education Level, Income Level, Now settled long, Total Family Dependents people´s perception of counselor behavior and the behavior of the Cosmopolitan field extension with the participation of forest villagers in support of forestry extension. Data analysis in research using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis of data obtained from field observations (primary data) are grouped into data in the form of quantitative and qualitative data in the form is done as it is, while the data is transformed into the form qualitative in quantitative form using a Likert Scale. Based on the analysis that had been done, it can be drawn some conclusions as follows Characteristics of community participation in the Village Wait Boyok showed high terhapa forestry extensionThere was no significant relationship between age, education level, number of dependents, income level, with the participation of the community in support of forestry extension in the Village Wait Tunggul Boyok.There are significant relationship between long settled factors, the level of perception and cosmopolitan with community participation in support of forestry extension in the village Tunggul Boyok Key Words : Role and also society, forest countryside,counselling of forestry

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increments of the diameter and height of the annual average of Red Meranti trees at different age intervals through the use of silvicultural Selective Cutting and Line Planting (TPTJ) carried out in the logged area of PT . Suka Jaya Makmur in Ketapang Regency of West Kalimantan. The research method applied was a single- plot method that is a method with a sampling plot representing every logged age by measuring the plants’ diameters and heights in the lane of the logged area of TPTJ line, and the sampling applied was purporsive sampling. The increments of the average diameter growth of Shorea johorensis species in planting forests were smaller than Shorea leprosula and Shorea Shorea parvifolia. Whereas there was no decline or incline in the diameter of that species in the natural forest that was staying in the same value at 0.59 cm/year. The average increments of the diameters of Shorea leprosula, Shorea johorensis, and Shorea parvifolia were 2.23 cm/year, 1.79 cm/year and  1.81 m/year respectively. Moreover, the height average increments of Shorea leprosula in the planting forest was 2,39 m/year and 0,53/year in the natural forest. The average increase in height of Shorea johorensis in planting forest was 1,93 m/year and 0,50 m/year in the natural forest, while for Shorea parvifolia species, there was an average increment of height of 1,92 m/year in planting forest and 0,58 m/year in the natural forest. Abstract

Keruing tree (Dipterocarpus spp) produced sap which is used for caulking boats; varnish and paint cure for a particular wound. The research aims to determine the sap production keruing intercepted on several different tree diameter classes. Research carried out in the area of ​​Village Forest at Benua Village Sungai Ambawang Kubu Raya District West Kalimantan Province. Keruing tree is tapped is a type of Keruing Kipas (Dipterocarpus spp) with a diameter of 30-39 cm and a diameter of 40-49 cm. Time of tapping carried out in three times, i.e. morning, noon and evening. Tapping stream forms a V-shaped with a height of 130 cm from the ground with a length of 20 cm, a width of 3 cm with an inclination of 45o flat surface. The results of research show the average amount of sap production of Keruing according to grade level diameter tree is a tree with a diameter of 30-39 cm class produce sap Keruing of 73.1 grams and a tree with a diameter of 40-49 cm class produce sap Keruing of 112.18 grams. The study concluded that the larger the diameter of the Keruing tree will produce the higher sap production. This is due to the greater diameter of the tree, the heartwood of the tree will be greater, and the higher content of Keruing sap contained in the sapwood of trees. Abstract

The red jabon (Anthocephalus macrophyllus) is one type that has an important role in the forest and land rehabilitation activities, beacause the cycle is shorter so it can provide high production in short time. The purpose of this research is to get the dose of appropriate NPK fertilizer for the red jabon growth on mixed media ultisol soil, compost and sand. The problem is how many doses of NPK fertilizer should be given to the plant. This research is an experimental research prepared using Completely Random Design methode that which consisted of 6 treatment with 4 replication so there is a 24 unit experiments. Treatment without fertilizer is control (P0), fertilizer treatment of NPK with the dose 0,5 g plant/(P1), fertilizer treatment of NPK with the dose 1 g/plant (P2), fertilizer treatment of NPK with the dose 1.5 g/plant (P3), fertilizer treatment of NPK with the dose 2 g/plant (P4), fertilizer treatment of NPK with the dose 2,5 g/plant (P5). The result of research  showed treatment of giving NPK fertilizer with the kinds of dose on the red Jabon seed with mix media of ultisol soil, compost and sand (2:1:1) not yet the real effect to height, diameter and number of leaves.Keywords: compost, NPK, red jabon.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the level of society motivation for the planting of mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) in Sungai Enau Village, and assess the relationship between factors that influencing motivation and the level of society motivation on mahogany planting. The factors that affect society motivation are: (1) perception (2) knowledge (3) income, and (4) land area, so that to increase the income of the society from the economic side as well as doing a short-term or long-term of greening program in order to reduce deforestation in Kubu Raya Regency. This Study uses descriptive analysis and inferential analysis, and using Kendall Tau correlation test which each of them given the weight of score and the result of observation data in the form likert scale quantized. The result of this study indicate that the society motivation on mahogany has moderat motivation level with frequency as much as 38 (76%), and there is no significant correlation between factors which influencing motivation with society motivation level on the planting of mahogany in Sungai Enau Village, Sub-district Kuala Mandor B Kubu Raya Regency.Keywords: Likert Scale, Mahogany Planting, Society Motivation

Abstract

Puri (Mitragyna speciosa Korth) is one of the plant species in Indonesia forest area which has a high economic value. especially in Kapuas Hulu has been exploited extensively by the community by taking the leaves of the puri that grows naturally in the forest. This research aims to determine the results of composting on alluvial soil as a medium for the growth of stem cuttings of puri. This research was conducted for 10 weeks. The method was Completely Random Design, which consisted of 5 treatment with 10 replication. Each treatment consisted of alluvial without compost, alluvial 4 + compost 1, alluvial 3 + compost 2, alluvial 2 + compost 3, alluvial 1 + compost 4. The variables observed were live percentage, number of shoots, number of leaves, number of roots and length of roots. The results showed that adding compost on stem cuttings of puri at alluvial 4 + compost 1 had a significant effect on the growth parameter of the number leaves, a number of roots and a very significant effect on the parameter of the length of roots. Abstract

Area of IUPHHK-HA PT. Suka Jaya Makmur has planted three types of Shorea (Shorea leprosula, Shorea parvifolia, and Shorea johoriensis) at silvicultural system TPTI and TPTJ. The present study aimed at identifying the diameter increment of Shorea leprosula, Shorea parvifolia, and Shorea johoriensis which were planted by using silvicultural system of Indonesian Selective Logging and Plantation (TPTI) and Selective Logging and Line Planting (TPTJ). Data collection was done through a technique called purposive sampling. Results of the discussion showed that the diameter increment of Shorea leprosula was bigger than two other types of Shorea i.e. Shorea parvifolia and Shorea johoriensis. The analysis also revealed that there was a difference of the diameter increment between silvicultural system of TPTI and TPTJ. The diameter of TPTJ increased faster i.e. 3.46 cm/year in comparison with TPTI which was only 1.02 cm/year. Keywords: diameter increment, silvicultural system TPTI and TPTJ, three types of Shorea.

Abstract

Forest ecosystem and flora and fauna variety are a basic capital for national development which benefit for human’ s life in particular at Tembangan forest located in Mensiku Bersatu village of Binjai Hulu sub-district of Sintang.  Tembangan forest located in Mensiku Bersatu village of Binjai Hulu sub-district of Sintang has a lot of flora and fauna and one of its familiar animals is squirrel. For several reasons, squirrel conservation is considered as an unimportant action since this wild animal is often regarded as one of potential pests. In fact, squirrel has several significant roles in maintaining the sustainability of forest ecosystem since this animal can perform as a flora distributor or a insect controller that distribute seeds around Tembangan forest. The purpose of this study is to investigate the type of squirrel species at Tembangan forest located in Mensiku Bersatu village of Binjai Hulu sub-district of Sintang. The study result is expected to have significant contribution regarding the required data for management, protection, and conservation of Tembangan forest.  The setting of this study is in Tembangan forest located in Mensiku Bersatu village of Binjai Hulu sub-district of Sintang. Survey method and purposive sampling technique are applied in this study to identify the squirrel’s main territory around Tembangan forest. Based on the results of observation and identification, it can be concluded that Tembangan forest located in Mensiku Bersatu village of Binjai Hulu sub-district of Sintang has 5 species of squirrel specifically Spotted Squirrel (Tupaica picta), Slim Squirrel, (Tupaica gracilis), Small Squirrel (Tupaica minor), Javan Treeshrew Squirrel (Tupaica javanica),and Beautiful Squirrel (Tupaica splendidula). There are approximately 183 squirrels living in Tembangan forest and Spotted Squirrel (Tupaica picta) is the most common type of squirrel found in there and Tembangan forest has 82 spotted squirrel (Tupaica picta), 36 slim squirrels (Tupaica gracillis), 45 small squirrels (Tupaica minor), 13 Javan Treeshrew Squirrel (Tupaica javanica), and 7 beautiful squirrels (Tupaica splendidula). Abstract

Puri (Mitragyna speciosa Korth) is one of the plant that has a high economic value, especially in Kapuas Hulu which has been used extensively by the community by taking the leaf of the plant that grows naturally in the forest. This research aims to determine the dose of Rootone F on the growth of stem cuttings of puri. This research was conducted for 2 month. The method used was Completely Random Design, which consisted of 4 treatments with 8 repetitions. Each treatment wash given with concentration Rootone F of 0 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm and 150 ppm. The variables measured were percentage of growing, number of shoots and number of roots. The results showed that adding Rootone F on stem cuttings of puri at 100 ppm had a significant effect on the growth parameter of the number of shoots and a very significant effect on the parameter of the number of roots.
