Abstract

This study is mainly aimed at examining the effect of the use of PDS (professional development school) in teaching practice to the development of the student-teachers competencies. In this study, a quasi-experiment has been conducted by employing a non-random posttest control group design. The Anova and Manova were applied to analyze the data. The result shows that, the use of PDS in teaching practice has significant effect upon the development of some aspects of the student-teachers personality traits. However, there is not enough evidence to conclude that this has significant effect on the development of their competencies related to knowledge and understanding, and those related to teaching skills

Abstract

The study of the compilation of the Qur’an text must begin with the character of the book itself as it was handed down by Muhammad to his companions during his lifetime. It was not delivered or, as Muslims believe, revealed all at once. It was revealed over a period of twenty-three years from the time when Muhammad began to preach in Mecca in 610 AD until his death at Medina in 632 AD. Abstract

This paper deals with the hermeneutical approach to the Quran and its relation to Islamic education. It is argued that hermeneutic assumes the relativity of any interpretation since it has been influenced by different context and environments— be they social, cultural, or political—that surround the interpreter. Therefore, Islamic education, which associated with the interpretation of the Quran and the Prophetic traditions as primary sources, should be reinterpreted according to modern demands based on moral values or ideal morals which become the spirit of revelation of the text.Kata Kunci: hermeneutika, kajian Alquran, pendidikan Islam

Abstract

Writing a dissertation is one of the requirements every postgraduate student has to accomplish in completing his/her doctorate program; and it is written based on research. This study addresses the problem concerning the pattern of weaknesses in the students’ research, particularly related to the use of research and statistical methods. Its objectives are to explore the weakness pattern of their research method and statistical data processing and analyze various causes of the pattern. The study is focused on the dissertations written by Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia’s School of Postgraduate Studies’ students that used a quantitative approach based on the review undertaken by the school’s commission from academic year 2012/2013 to 2013/2014. The study employed a qualitative approach and data analysis was done by using logical analysis of the review results. Findings of the study indicate there are various weaknesses in the students’ dissertations, particularly related to the way of thinking and inappropriate use of research method and statistical method. Inappropriate population, bias sampling technique, and inappropriate data analysis process and hypothesis testing are also found in the dissertations.

Abstract

This study addresses a descriptive study on the current scenario of Textile industry in Bangladesh. This paper demonstrates above mentioned scenario in terms of supply chain management (SCM). The textile industry, an important segment in Bangladesh’s manufacturing industry, play a critical role in its economic development. The textile sector fulfils almost cent percent domestic demand apart from the fulfilling the external demand of clothing and apparels to a large extent in Bangladesh. The Textile industry is a long chain including raw materials production, complement production, clothing production and so on. SCM concept is made possible as a conventional management tool for all manufactures are to strive to improve their product quality, to reduce their product and service cost and to shorten their product delivery and response time in a highly competitive market. This research developed based on the secondary data, including online databases, journals, review papers, etc. The effective SCM of textile industry include lower inventories, lower costs, higher productivity, greater productivity, greater agility shorter lead times, higher profits and greater customer loyalty. This paper encompasses the constraints of textile industry in Bangladesh, including ineffective communication, invisibility of SCM, long lead time, etc. which would unlock further research to develop this sector.

Abstract

The ability to focus on tasks / lessons is important to improve the achievement of a student.To get the results, it takes a sufficient intake of oxygen for the brain to generate energy. Oneform of effort to increase the intake of such intake is with Brain Gym. This study aims toprove the influence of Brain Gym on the concentration of students learning STEI Indonesiarawamangun East Jakarta. The benefits of this study is for physiotherapists to prove theinfluence of Brain Gym on the concentration of students learning STEI Indonesiarawamangun East Jakarta to always be able to concentrate so as to get better learningoutcomes. Sampling technique used is purposive sampling and continued with simple randomsampling. Total number of 68 students divided into study and control group participated inthis research. Statistical analysis used is paired t test and independent t test if normaldistributed. The results showed that Before Intervention produced average value equal to44.65 which means the level of concentration is moderate and after Intervention producedaverage value equal to 59.26 which means the level of concentration is quite moderate. Thecalculation results show that there is a difference between the control group and thetreatment group. The result of the calculation of the average value shows that the treatmentgroup is higher than the control group. Thus the treatment group is more effective.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a collection of symptoms that occur in a person due to insufficient insulin hormone that can not work normally. DM can cause a variety of complications, and complications can also occur in pregnant women. Pregnant women who suffer from diabetes more likely to deliver larger babies (macrosomia). This can complicate the birth process may cause trauma of birth, even newborns having weight above the normal value can not cry or  breathe spontaneously at birth or a regular basis. If this condition persists, the future can cause birth defects. If this condition can lead to prolonged mental or physical disability. This study aims to determine the percentage of pregnant women living with diabetes who delivered macrosomic infants. This research is a descriptive cross sectional study, the secondary data retrieval by record number of 100 medical records of pregnant women living with diabetes and non-diabetes who delivered macrosomic infants in RSAB Harapan Kita Jakarta during the period 2010-2011.The results showed the average age of pregnant women living with DM 33.5 years, gestational age 38.5 weeks, while glucose 167.5 mg / dL and the percentage of pregnant women living with diabetes with macrosomic infants born in RSAB. Harapan Kita Jakarta is 44.8%. DMG case in RSAB Harapan Kita Jakarta, prevalence was only 1.2%.There is no association between gestational diabetes mellitus with macrosomia (p-value 0.301)

Abstract

Raden Ajeng Kartini is one of first feminist in Indonesia who is installed as national heroine and her birthday is celebrated by Indonesia nation. The hardest Kartini’s struggle was for education, because she was sure that one of the instruments of respecting woman role in improving civilization. Based on the explanation, this study aim is to (1) describe Raden Ajeng Kartini’s idea of woman education, and (2) analyze the Raden Ajeng Kartini’s idea relevance of woman education for developing Islamic education. This research is library research by using historical and biography approaches by retelling and reexpressing the important history and event in the Kartinis’s life. This research is analyzed by describing the Kartini’s consideration of education which manifested and had the relevance of the theory. Kartini’s idea of education is critics reaction based on every problem which faced by her thought education experiences which were gotten, so that it appears practical concept of woman education. Kartini’s struggle was not just and idea, because Kartini was brave to stride in opening woman school even it had contradiction with culture. The effect on next development, Kartini’s struggle became stimulation in developing education, especially Islamic education which develops very quickly by appearing woman school (Islamic boarding school) and the progress of Islamic ideas by appearing many religious organizations after Kartini’s death.Raden Ajeng Kartini adalah seorang tokoh feminis pertama Indonesia yang dikukuhkan sebagai pahlawan nasional dan hari lahirnya diperingati oleh seluruh rakyat Indonesia.Kartini seorang pejuang kemerdekaan perempuan.Perjuangan Kartini yang paling keras adalah pendidikan, karena Kartini yakin hanya pendidikan alat satu-satunya untuk mengangkat derajat peremuan dan menyadarkan masyarakat tentang pentingnya peran perempuan dalam membangun peradaban. Berdasar hal itu, maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan pemikiran Raden Ajeng Kartini tentang pendidikan perempuan, dan (2) menganalisis relevansi pemikiran pendidikan perempuan Raden Ajeng Kartini bagi pengembangan pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kepustakaan yang menggunakan pendekatan historis dan biografi dengan menceritakan dan mengungkap kembali sejarah dan peristiwa penting dalam kehidupan Kartini.Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis isi dalam menganalisis data penelitian, yakni mendeskripsikan pemikiran pendidikan Kartini yang termanifestasikan dan memiliki relevansi teori yang jelas. Pemikiran Kartini tentang pendidikan merupakan reaksi kritis atas setiap permasalahan yang dihadapinya berdasar pengalaman-pengalaman edukatif yang diperoleh sehingga melahirkan konsep praktis tentang pendidikan perempuan.Perjuangan Kartini bukan sebatas ide, karena Kartini telah berani melangkah, membuka sekolah perempuan meski bertentangan dengan adat.Akibat pada perkembangan selanjutnya, perjuangan Kartini menjadi stimulan pengembangan pendidikan, khususnya pendidikan Islam yang mengalami perkembangan sangat cepat dengan tumbuhnya sekolah-sekolah perempuan (pesantren) dan kemajuan pemikiran-pemikiran Islam dengan tumbuhnya berbagai organisasi keagamaan setelah wafatnya Kartini.
