Abstract

The experiment involve the study of the effects of two or more factors can be used the factorial designs. The factorial designs have several advantages. They are more efficient than one factor at a time experints. Furthermore, a factorial designs is necessary when interaction may be present to avoid misleading conclutions. In the Strip Plot design is factorial two factors which random factors aren’t  based on main plot or the whole plot but the important is it’s interaction. There are three error in the Strip plot. They are error caused by factor A, error caused by factor B and error by A and B interaction.   Keywords: Factorial, Strip Plot, Interaction

Abstract

TITLEThe effect of rinse using water stew of dry bay leaf (Eugenia polyantha) toward pH salivaABSTRACT Caries is the main couse of disease of the oral cavity caused by saliva. Salivary pH acidic and  susceptible to caries. Saliva is a buffer system to maintain optimum pH in the oral cavity. To keep salivary pH balance,can do prevented by chemically and mechanically. Chemically prevention can do rising mouth with bay leaves dried because it contain essential oil 0.17 % which can stimulate secretion of saliva. Increased secretion of saliva can increasing buffer on saliva so it can in salivaincreas and tend to be alkaline. Aim to know the effect of rising mouth with water stewbay leaves dried ( eugenia polyantha ) on salivary to pH to the students of Dental Health  Departement of Semarang .Research is quantitative descriptive. Research method is quasi exsperimental with cross sectional approach. Research design one group pretest – posttest. Collection of samples in this research using by using 20 samples,The test result of paired t -test showed 0.000 < 0.05 that there was influence of rising mouth with water stewbay leaves dried on salivary pH. It can be concluded that rising mouth with water stew bay leaves dried can cause changes in the pH of saliva.

Abstract

Synthesis of zeolite from bagasse with variation of Si / Al ratio (1,2,1,4,1,6 and 1,8) with ZS1-ZS5 code and hydrothermal time (160, 190, 250, 340, and 460 minutes) with sample code ZSa - ZSe has been conducted. The synthesized zeolite was then applied to the detergent builder. The detergent builder of synthetic zeolite was used as a substitute for sodium tripolyphosphate, which is not environmentally friendly as it can lead to eutrophication. One of the detergent builder functions is to improve the washing efficiency of the surfactant by inactivating water-absorbing minerals (Ca2+ and Mg2+ ions) which may further deter the detergency process. Zeolites were synthesized using a sol-gel method followed by a hydrothermal process. The material used in this synthesis is Na2SiO3 (aq) (derived from bagasse) mixed with NaAl(OH)4 (aq), then stirred to form a white gel and continued by heating using autoclave at 100°C. The results obtained are zeolite-A and zeolt-X for variation of Si/Al ratio and hydrothermal time variation, with CEC value and detergency proportional to Si/Al ratio and hydrothermal time.
