Abstract

This society service is carried out using a free teacher website;www.k12lessonplans.com, in a form of training for teachers at SMP. H.Isriati Semarang. There are 15 teachers joining this training, which is heldon 14 – 16 July, 2012, starting from 09:00 am - 02:00 pm. This trainingtakes place in the Computer Laboratory group and individual audience isconducted consecutively from 17 – 21 July, 2012 and 23 – 26 July startingfrom 02:00 – 04:00 pm in the teachers’ longue at the school. This programis aimed to give the teachers knowledge and training, to implement onlineclassroom using the website. The methods used in this program are;explanation, question and answer, training and group guidance.Key words: online classroom, teacher website, k12lessonplans

Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) to explain a tutorial in creating Flexiquiz web application to essential vocabulary learning for the TOEFL, (2) to explain the Flexiquiz web application to essential vocabulary learning for the TOEFL as a learning strategy in combining the user manual with the web application for online learning, (3) to know users’ responses towards the online TOEFL quiz in essential vocabulary learning using Flexiquiz web application. This study is a qualitative research type and it is categorized as descriptive research because it is aimed to describe a learning strategy using Flexiquiz web application that can be manifested as materials integrartion. The practice questions that are available in Flexiquiz web application are taken from a book entitled “Barron’s: Essential Word for the TOEFL”. It means that the writer joined between the book with the Flexiquiz web application. The data gathered in this study are a questionnaire and a test result using Flexiquiz. The results of this study expose that the users of the Flexiquiz web application have interest to use Flexiquiz web application as online strategy to learn. Two features of Flexiquiz web application that can improve learning in vocabulary are; Grading and Review Answer.  The conclusion can be drawn in this study shows the result that online learning using Flexiquiz web application is interesting, fun and easy.

A Study of Kinesics Category and the Manifestation Towards a Toddler Attitudes

Abstract

Kinesics, or body language, is one of the most powerful ways that humans can communicate nonverbally. It is used to portray moods and emotions and to emphasize or contradict what is being said. From the kinesics point of view, there are several facial expressions and gestures done to express respond, and do activities toward people around. From the research finding, there are kinesics expressions done from the child. There are several classifications in kinesics; Emblems a substitute for words and phrases. Illustrators go with or reinforce verbal messages. Affect Displays Show emotion. Regulators Control the flow and pace of communication. Adaptors Release physical or emotional tension. This study investigates on how a kid expresses their non-verbal behavior using the kinesics classification and based on them, the kid’s verbal expressions belong to illustrators, affect displays and adaptor.
