Abstract

Brake is one one of system in vehicle. It has very vital function, especially in safety aspect for both the driver himself and other whenever that vehicle is in the road. Since it has essential function, the condition of brake must be checked regularly. Overhaul must be conducted periodically to guarantee the perfectness of this system. This writing is an alternative to reduce or to avoid problem which often occur in hydrolic breaking system of jeep and station wagon. This modification has been applied with satisfactory result, according to the writer who often gets complains before modifying this material. After applying this experiment.

Abstract

At process having to do with machines or turning material that ductile usually having problem. For example at cutting process have income chip that continue or not broken. So chip be turn at material. The matter can be disturb in turning process, much time that free to clean teh chip, because the machine always turn on and turn off. The solution is used cutting chip radius that long chip. So turn machine operator can work with efficient and quality of work more increase. Purpose of the research is to know large of cutting radius that appropriate to turn steel S 45 C and to know how for effect of large of cutting radius to long of chip. Based on data analysis that regressed  having result of experiment with used radius 0,25 (mm) income long of chip average 11,09 (mm), radius 0,5 (mm) income long of chip average 17,54 (mm), radius 0,75 (mm) income long of chip average 23,45 (mm), radius 1,0 (mm) income long of chip average 32,41 (mm), radius 1,25 (mm) income long of chip 42,91 (mm), radius 1,3 (mm) income long of chip average 55,45 (mm). Include the larger of cutting chip radius so income long the chip can be long form long turning process, so turn of chip at material or object be able to displacement.

Abstract

The S 45 C steel carbon is a kind of low carbon steel that is easily obtainable in market. One of automotive components using this material is leaf spring pen, which connects vehicle chassis to the leaf spring. The function of this component is basically to have dynamic load and friction. Yet, however, the supplier researches show that the specification needed is still low and as not as expected. To get expected specification, heat treatment is conducted in which the leaf spring is heated to austenite temperature before dipped into water and lubricating oil. This research covers chemical composition analysis, microstructure, hardness and tensile test. The research has shown that there is an increase of the hardness of the leaf spring that fulfills its specification namely 710 – 800 N/m2 for the tensile and (650 – 700) Hv or (59 – 60) HRc for its surface hardness. Temperature applied in the heat treatment is 850oC before dipped into water and oil and tempered to 250oC temperature.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to minimize processing time in manufacturing using 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke) method. As well as quality, processing time is one of the important points to consider. Improvement had been done in every step of the process to achieve 3.4 defect per million (DPM). Although 6s had not been achieved yet, but 5S method in Lean Sigma have already improved the production process Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan penggunaan Metoda 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke) dalam meminimalkan waktu proses pembuatan produk. Selain kualitas produk, waktu proses merupakan hal yang penting untuk diperhatikan. Perbaikan dari setiap proses dilakukan agar didapat 3,4 kegagalan persejuta (DPM). Walaupun 6s belum tercapai, tapi penerapan metoda 5S dalam Lean Sigma sudah menunjukkan perbaikan pada proses yang dilakukan. Kata kunci: 5S, six sigma, lean sigma

Abstract

Forging is a metal processing with state of deformation in the heat with a blow system. Some of the products produced by the industry wrought blacksmith like machetes, knives, hoes, Dodos, tools, household, agricultural, and equipment for agriculture and plantations. In general, the blacksmith business production is very limited and do not meet all the required quality standards, it is constrained in the process of forging forging products are still done manually with hammer blows repeatedly driven by hand. The purpose of this research is the design of machinery forging hammer spring system that works mechanically. With this engine the forging process becomes easier, production and product quality small blacksmith forging industry can be improved. From the results of the activities that have been implemented resulting machine forging hammer spring system with a size of 1.9 x 0.9 x 0.9 (m) by using a hammer tap mechanically driven by electric motors. The resulting machine uses 2 HP electric motor, using a flywheel as an addition to the pressure at the hammer presses the workpiece, and the clutch as successor breaker round, and spring hammer spring as conductor of the pressure fluctuation. So the use of the components of the flywheel and this springs capability of forging machine in one hit can reduce the depth of the workpiece to 2-3 mm, and the resulting number of strokes ± 200-250 blows / min.

Abstract

After the era of tadwin, almost all disciplines of knowledge in the Islamic world, including the study of hadith, was considered “running on the spot.” Yet, attention and maintenance of the hadith was still favored by intellectuals. Similarly, in the modern era, the hadith remains the object of criticism by not only Muslim intellectuals but also outsiders, such as the West. Western imperialism against the Islamic world in the past was now the beginning of the history of how Muslims are only able to “survive” rather than “attack.” The emergence of defensive and reactive works against trends of the West in criticizing and blasphemed the hadith, then, such works became trends and supporting methodologies among Muslim observers of the hadith in today’s modern era

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi lama pengeringan dengan penambahan 5% berat fly ash pada pembuatan paving block melalui pengujian kuat tekan. Fly ash yang digunakan berasal dari sisa pembakaran batubara pada pembangkit listrik tenaga uap dari Sijantang Sawahlunto. Pertambahan jumlah produksi fly ash menyebabkan dampak negatif pada lingkungan, sehingga salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi dampak tersebut adalah dengan cara memanfaatkan fly ash untuk campuran dan meningkatkan kualitas paving block (bata beton). Komposisi yang digunakan untuk membuat paving block yaitu 100% paving block (semen + pasir + air) dan 95% paving block (semen + pasir + air) ditambah 5% fly ash dengan variasi pengeringan 7, 14, 21, 28 dan 35 hari. Hasil penelitian didapatkan paving block dengan komposisi 5% berat fly ash mempunyai kuat tekan lebih tinggi dari 0% berat fly ash (100% paving block). Kondisi optimal didapat pada komposisi 5% berat fly ash dengan lama pengeringan 35 hari rata – rata kuat tekan 18,8 MPa Menurut SNI 03-0691-1996 dapat digolongkan pada mutu B untuk pelataran parkir.

Abstract

Jagung  giling  merupakan  bahan  pokok  makanan  ternak  yang  sangat  dipengaruhi  oleh  tingkatkehalusan  gilingan.  Teknologi  penggilingan  jagung  biasanya  bekerja  dengan  prinsip  tumbukan(Hammer Mill), kapasitas besar (1-1,5 ton/jam). Mesin ini efektif, tetapi kelemahannya daya yangdigunakan  besar  dan  hasil gilingan  yang  bervariasi  lama  sekali  didapatkan  dibandingkan  denganteknologi penggilingan jenis Buhr Mill, punya biaya awal yang rendah, dan kapasitas penggilingan200-300 kg/jam dan daya yang digunakan 1/3 dari daya yang digunakan oleh penggiling tumbukdengan  kapasitas  yang  sama.  Tujuan  dari  penelitian  ini  pada  tahun  I  adalah  merancang  danmembuat  mesin  penggiling  jagung  jenis Buhr  Millskala  kecil sistem  hantaran  screw  danpenggilingan plat bergerigi dan assembling. Pada tahun ke II melakukan evaluasi teknis terhadapkinerja mesin yang optimal dan melakukan analisis ekonomi untuk menentukan biaya operasi dantitik impas. Dari hasil rancangan mesin didapatkan kapasitas mesin ± 225 kg/jam, ukuran mesinyaitu 87 cm x 130 cm x 40 cm, daya motor penggerak 1,5 HP dengan putaran 1450 RPM dengan 1phase.  Beberapa  komponen  utama  dari  mesin  yaitu  unit  penggiling  dengan  2  pisau  penggilingberukuran  Ø  22  cm  x  2  cm,  poros  penggiling  berukuran  Ø  3,5  cm  x  120  cm,  pisau  tengah,  ulirscrew berukuran Ø 4,5 cm x 4 cm dengan jumlah screw 4 buah. Unit penyetel jarak kerengganganpisau, terdiri dari baut penggerak pipa dan komponen penahan pipa penyetel.Unit corong masukdan corong keluar, rangka bawah, rangka tengah dan rangka atas. Hasil pengujian dengan putaranporos pencacah 1450 RPM didapatkan kapasitas dan hasil gilingan yaitu untuk jarak celah 0,5 mmkapasitas mesin 150 kg/jam, hasil gilingan halus (30 mess) 61,3%, sedang (50 mess) 30,3%, kasar(70 mess) 2,6%. Jarak celah 1 mm kapasitas 190 kg/jam, hasil gilingan halus 52,3%, sedang 30,5%,kasar 10,1%. Jarak celah 1,5 mm kapasitas mesin 225 kg/jam, hasil gilingan halus 20,8%, sedang38,9%, kasar 37,1%.

Abstract

The power produced by a hydrokinetic turbine depends on the interaction between the rotor and water. Therefore, the optimal rotor geometry must be designed and built to capture maximum water energy and convert it into usable energy. Hydropower is one of the potential renewable energy that can contribute to the need for electricity. Hydropower generator is pollution free so this generator can answer environmental problems and the availability of renewable energy sources. The aim to be achieved in this study is to produce a turbine hydropower with good performance if it operates on an irrigation channel and is applied as a power plant. This research was developed to get the right specifications for the use of hydrokinetic turbines in the irrigation canal area. There are several methods carried out in the design of hydrokenetic turbines, namely by designing blades based on the shape of water flow, repairing the transmission system, and selecting the right generator. In this study, we tested the sweet lemon irrigate applied and tested in the area of ​​Padang Sumbar Sweet Limes Pauh, the results obtained were that the turbine can produce power of about 12.6 watts.
