Abstract

This study was conducted in describing the spatial distribution of phytoplankton in the coast of Tanggerang based on species composition and abundance. This study held on April and August 2013 in 10 sampling station. Sample survey method used to collect the data. Morisita Index of Dispersion used to describe the distribution pattern of phytoplankton and Bray-Curtis Index used to describe the similarity of sampling station based on its abundances of phytoplankton. Based on result of the study, the phytoplankton in the coast of Tangerang consist of three classes, which is Bacillariophyceae (24 genera), Dinophyceae (3 genera), and Cyanophyceae (2 genera). The result shows that the highest composition and abundance is from the species of Bacillariophyceae. The distribution pattern of phytoplankton is group distribution. The distribution of species of phytoplankton and its abundance is different even the sampling station is near each other and environmental parameters that influence. Abstract

Abstract

Buaya River is one of the river in Bunyu Island which is found near with domestic and agricultural activities. Moreover, Buaya River is also used for fisheries activity by people nearby (fish products collecting and processing) and also used by the fisherman as the back of the boat. These activities will influence and change water quality. This research aimed to analysed water quality condition at Buaya River. Water quality assessment was conducted at four observation station. Water quality was analysed using Storet index and was compared with threshold for marine organisms (Kepmen No. 51/MENLH/2004). The result showed that Buaya River had been polluted at medium level at tide and medium to heavy level at low tide. TSS, oil and grease were not suitable with marine organisms threshold at all stations in low high and low tide.

Abstract

PLTA Koto Panjang Reservoir is one of the reservoirs in Riau Province which has a primary function as a Hydropower source and also used for fisheries and tourism activities. Increased activity around the existing reservoir affecting water quality conditions that would interfere with function.This research was conducted in April-May 2015 with three observations on 5 stations with the aimed this research to analyzing, determining the status of water quality, and fertility status of waters in PLTA Koto Panjang Reservoir. Determination of reservoir water quality status based on parameters of physical, chemical, and biological methods STORET with water quality standard Class II and III for comparison. Fertility status was determined by Trophic Level Index (TLI) based on the brightness, chlorophyll-a, total nitrogen, and total phosphorus waters. The results showed that the status of Koto Panjang Reservoir water quality can be categorized as being contaminated with the quality standard Class III and heavily polluted the quality standard Class II. The parameters have exceeded the water quality standard Class II and III are ammonia, nitrite, and BOD5. The fertility status of the dam water is the eutrophic category with TLI values ranges from 4.6-5.2.

Abstract

Keberhasilan kegiatan budidaya perikanan harus ditunjang dengan ketersediaan benih yang berkesinambungan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan juga ketersediaan pakan alami larva berupa rotifera (Brachionus rotundiformis). Desain percobaan berupa rancangan faktorial dengan dua faktor dan lima ulangan diaplikasikan dalam penelitian ini. Sebagai perlakuan berupa suhu ruang penyimpanan (suhu kamar, suhu ruang AC, dan suhu refrigerator/lemari es) dan pakan mikroalga konsentrat (monospesies dan multispesies). Bakteri probiotik juga digunakan sebagai pengontrol kualitas air. Spesies mikroalga yang digunakan adalah Nannochloropsis sp., Dunaliella sp., Isochrysis sp., dan Pavlova sp. Parameter yang diukur adalah kelimpahan rotifera dan parameter kualitas air media kultur (pH, salinitas, DO, dan NH3). Analisis data terdiri atas analisis regresi, analisis ragam, dan uji keparalelan. Hasil pengukuran parameter kualitas air selama penyimpanan menunjukkan kondisi media yang relatif stabil dan merupakan kisaran optimum bagi pertumbuhan B. rotundiformis. Kelimpahan maksimum tertinggi dari B. rotundiformis baik pada perlakuan pakan monospesies maupun multispesies alga adalah pada suhu kamar. Dari interaksi kedua perlakuan, diperoleh kelimpahan akhir tertinggi pada suhu ruang AC–pakan multispesies. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa rotifera dapat disimpan lebih lama pada suhu ruang AC dengan pemberian pakan multispesies alga.The success of any aquaculture practices should be supported by sustainable supply of fish fry. Therefore, the availability of rotifers (Brachionus rotundiformis) as natural feed for fish larvae is required. The research was arranged in factorial design with two treatments and five replications. Treatments consisted of different room storage temperatures (refrigerator, room temperature, and room with air conditioner/AC) and microalgae concentrate added as rotifer feed (monospecies and multispecies algae). Probiotic bacteria was used to control water quality. Mikroalgae species consisted of Nannochloropsis sp., Dunaliella sp., Isochrysis sp., and Pavlova sp. Parameters measured were rotifer density and water quality of rotifer media (pH, salinity, DO, and NH3). Data analysis included regression analysis, analysis of varians and parallel testing. The results of water quality parameters during rotifer storage showed that media conditions were relatively stable and optimal for B. rotundiformis growth. The result of treatments interaction showed that the highest maximum density of rotifer at the end of the research was achieved by rotifer stored in air conditioned room fed with multispecies algae. This showed that rotifers can be stored longer in room storage with AC and fed by multispecies algae.

Abstract

Waduk Ir. H. Djuanda merupakan waduk multi fungsi yang salah satunya adalah untuk kegiatan budidaya ikan.Adanya input pakan dari kegiatan budidaya dapat menyebabkan peningkatan bahan organik dan penurunan konsentrasi oksigen terlarut. Kegiatan budidaya ikan dalam karamba jaring apung (KJA) menyumbang bahan organik ke perairan yang laju dekomposisinya (k) (per hari) dipengaruhi oleh suhu perairan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kedalaman hipoksia di lokasi karamba jaring apung untuk budidaya ikan diWaduk Ir. H. Djuanda dan pengaruh suhu terhadap besarnya laju dekomposisi bahan organik (k). Penelitian kondisi hipoksia dilakukan diWaduk Ir. H Djuanda dan selanjutnya pengamatan BOD untuk penentuan laju dekomposisi bahan organik di Laboratorium Balai Penelitian Pemulihan dan Konservasi Sumberdaya Ikan pada bulan Februari–April 2013. Penentuan kondisi hipoksia berdasaran Peraturan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia Nomor 82 Tahun 2001 dan penentuan laju dekomposisi berdasarkan Least SquareMethod. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedalaman hipoksia dimulai pada kedalaman 3 m dan laju dekomposisi bahan organik (k) tertinggi pada suhu 28,5 °C yaitu sebesar 0,189/hari.Ir H. Djuanda Reservoir is a multi-purpose reservoirs, one of which is for fisheries culture activity. Feed inputs from aquaculture activities can lead to an increase in organic matter and a decrease in dissolved oxygen concentration. Cultivation of fish in floating cage net contributing organic material into waters which the rate of organic matter decomposition (k) (per day) is affected by water temperature. The purpose of this study was to know the depth of hypoxia in floating cage net for fisheries culture in the Ir. H. Djuanda Reservoir and the effect of temperature on the amount of organic matter decomposition rates (k). Observation of hypoxic conditions was conducted in Ir. H Djuanda Reservoir and furthermore observation of BOD to determine the rate of organic matter decomposition at Research Institute for Rehabilitation and Conservation of Fish Resources laboratory in February-April, 2013. Determination of hypoxic conditions based on Government Regulation of the Republic Indonesia Number 81 Year 2001 and the determination of the rate of decomposition based on Least Square Method. The results showed that the depth of hypoxia began at a depth of 3 m and the higher of decomposition rate of organic matter (k) was 0.189/day at temperature 28.5 ° C.
