Abstract

The isolated and characteristic lactic acid bacteria in broiler’s intestineABSTRACT. The objective of the research was to evaluate and characterize of a Lactic Acid Bacteria isolated frombroiler’s small intestine. The research was done by three steps : (1) Isolated Lactic Acid Bacteria, (2) Gram colourize and microscopic observation and (3) Inhibitory test with pathogen bacteria. The isolation of lactic acid bacteria was proceed by clone from broiler’s small intestine with MRS Broth for 24 hours, thinned until 10 ̄ 9with serial number, invested in MRS jell, purify by streak plate method and storage the lactic acid bacteria in an MRS angle jell. Gram colourize was done with crystal violet liquid, Iodium, Alkohol 95% and  Safranin, and also microscopic observation was done by electron microscope with 40 zooming. Inhibitory test with pathogen bacteria was evaluated with  Escherichia coli as testing bacteria in 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 24 dan 48 hours incubation period. The isolation result showed two sample of isolate (A1 dan A2) and consist of the observation in shape as well as colour of the bacteria growth, for sample of isolate A1 the colonies had coccus  and white colour. The isolate of A2 had sarcinar. After that, gram colouring was done and microscopic observation were identified into gram-negative bacteria became bacill and bacill cocco. Inhibitory test with pathogen bacteria showed that it produced antimicrobial with 11 mm clearing zone diameter. The result of the research got Lactobacillus sp as the genera of Lactic Acid Bacteria.

Abstract

Kelompok Peternak di Desa Saka Jaya Kecamatan Muara Enim, Kabupaten Muara Enim terdiri atas petani peternak mandiri yang tergabung dalam SPR Muaro Tigo Manunggal. Beberapa anggota kelompok ada yang memiliki ternak sapi, kambing dan ayam. Namun, jumlah ternak-ternak tersebut cenderung tidak bersifat ekonomis. Untuk ternak sapi misalnya, kepemilikan dengan anggota kelompok bersifat gaduhan. Pemilik sapi sebenarnya adalah orang lain yang menitipkan sapi tersebut untuk dikembangbiakkan dengan sistem bagi hasil kepada anggota kelompok tani tersebut. Pemanfaatan kotoran sapi sebagai pupuk kompos juga belum optimal mengingat jumlah sapinya yang masih sedikit (3-4 ekor), selain itu teknologi pengolahan kompos juga cenderung belum tepat.Pembuatan digester biogas mampu meningkatkan produktivitas ternak melalui kebersihan lingkungan kandang sehingga konsumsi ransum akan naik yang selanjutkan akan meningkatkan performa ternak. Pemanfaatan limbah kandang sebagai bahan baku digester biogas selain ramah lingkungan juga akan meningkatkan pendapatan harian peternak sapi

Abstract

Palm midrib that was one of all agroindustries unused. It could be pontential as animal feeding. It could used as animal feeding with made it Complete Feed Block (CFB). This research aimed to study the fermentation of  palm  midrib in complete feed block (CFB) on the quality of degestibility in vitro. The research was conducted three phases, the first phase of the fermentation of  palm  midrib grounding  with White Root Fungy, the second stage of the manufacture of complete feed block (CFB) and the third stage of the proximate analysis and digestibility analysis, The research was in  Nutrition  and animal feeding  Laboratory,  Agriculture Faculty, Srivijaya University. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two treatments and five replications consisting of Formula 1 and Formula 2, the parameters were observed dry matter, crude fiber, crude protein, Extract Either, BETN, dry matter digestibility coefficients, organic matter digestibility coefficients and the concentration of N-NH 3. The result of CFB formulation  were formula 1 TDN: crude protein (47.32%: 13.93%), formula 2 (48.41%: 7.96%), where the results of proximate analysis showed F1: 98.66% DM, LK 13:19%, 7:03% PK, SK 35.79%, 40.24% BETN, and F2: 98.41% DM, LK 16:43%, PK 6.25%  SK 24.06%, 49.50% BETN. Formulations showed that all treatments influence  non significantly (p> 0.05),  organic matter digestibility (85.00% vs. 85.70%), dry matter digestibility (59.42% vs. 59.62% vs. 16.72%) and the concentration of N-NH 3 (2.2% versus 1.8 %). The conclusion of this study is the complete feed block (CFB) can be used as a ruminant animal feeding, but should pay attention to aspects of quality and palatability.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the digestibility of rice straw that supplemented with Zn Lysinate by  in vitro techniques. This research was held in laboratory of Animal Feed and Nutrition, Departement of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture,  Sriwijaya University. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatment and four replications, were used : P0 (rice straw control),  P1 (rice straw with Zn Lysinate 0,1%), P2 (rice straw with Zn Lysinate 0,2%),  P3 (rice straw with Zn Lysinate 0,3%). Observed parameters were dry matter digestibility (DMD), organic matter digestibity (OMD), and N-ammonia concentration.The result showed  that the highest dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility and N-amonia were on M0 treatment ; 33,86%, 44,94%, 1,50mM respectively. Supplementation of  Zn Lysinate for rice straw had  effect on Dry Matter Digestibility (DMD), but had no effect on Organic Matter Digestibity (OMD) and N-Amonia concentration.

Abstract

Riswandi et al, 2018. Physical Quality Evaluation and Palatability of (Hymenachne acutigluma) through Combination of Palm Oil and Cassava Leaves. JLSO 7(2):204-212. The aim of this study to investigate the physical quality and palatability based feed Hymenachne acutigluma which is combine cassava leaves and palm oil as animal feed.  This reseach   was done in 3 months in Cattle Nutrition and Feed Laboratory and Livestock Experiment Studies Program Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya.  This reseach used completely randomazed design method with 4 treatments and 4 replications.  The treatment consisted of R0 (85% Hymenachne acutigluma + 15% concretate), R1 (55% Hymenachne acutigluma + 30% cassava leaves + 15% concrentate), R2 (55% Hymenachne acutigluma + 30% palm oil + 15% concentrate), R3 (55% Hymenachne acutigluma + 15% cassava leaves + 15% palm oil + 15% concentrate).  The observed variabels are smell, water ration, density and palatability of feed consisted.  The results showed thet the treatment had significant effect (P<0.05) on density of the ration and had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the smell and the water content of the feed.  The result of the palatability rations show thet the treatment of R1 is the most favored by the livestock.  The conclusion of this reseach is indicate that the combination 55% Hymenachne acutigluma + 30% cassava leaves + 15% concrentate can improve the physical quality and palatability.

Abstract

?ABSTRAKKualitas rumput tembaga merupakan hijauan dengan produksi melimpah tetapi belum banyak dimanfaatkan secara optimal sebagai pakan ternak. Oleh karena itu, perlu dikombinasi dengan daun singkong, lumpur sawit dan disuplementasi ragi Sc untuk meningkatkan nutrisi dari ransum yang berbahan dasar rumput kumpai tembaga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari P0= 85% rumput kumpai tembaga + 15% konsenterat, P1= 55% rumput kumpai tembaga + 30% daun singkong+15% konsenterat + 0,05% (Saccharomycas Cerevisiae), P2= 55% rumput kumpai tembaga+30% lumpur sawit+15% konsenterat+0,05% (Saccharomycas Cerevisiae), P3= 55% rumput kumpai tembaga+15% lumpur sawit+15% daun singkong+15% konsenterat + 0,05 % (Saccharomycas Cerevisiae). Parameter yang diamati adalah konsentrasi SCFA (mM), Gas Metana (ppm), dan laju produksi Gas (mL/Jam) secara in vitro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ransum rumput kumpai tembaga dikombinasi daun singkong, lumpur sawit dan disuplementasi ragi Sc menghasilkan Konsentrasi SCFA, Gas metana, dan Produksi Gas yang berbeda nyata (P<0,05) secara in vitro. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan R2 (30% lumpur sawit dan 0,05% ragi) mampu mencukupi sumber energi utama ternak dengan konsentrasi SCFA yaitu 115,25 mM, dan memiliki nilai konsentrasi gas metana yang lebih rendah yaitu 537,97 ppm, serta dapat meningkatkan nilai laju produksi gas yaitu 1.44 mL/Jam.?Kata Kunci : Kombinasi, Kumpai Tembaga, Metana, Produksi Gas, SCFA.?ABSTRACTQuality grass (Hymenachne Acutigluma) is a forage that abundant production but has not been optimally utilized as animal feed. Therefore, it needs to be combined Cassava Leaves, Palm Oil and yeast Sc Suplementation to improve the nutrients of the copper based grass ration. This study aims to determine the concentration of SCFA and in vitro gas production of grass based grass ration based on cassava leaves, palm oil and Yeast Sc supplementation. This study used a complate random design method (CRD) that 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment consisted of P0 = 85% (Hymenachne Acutigluma) + 15% consentate, P1 = 55% (Hymenachne Acutigluma) + 30% cassava leaves + 15% consentate + 0.05% (Saccharomycas Cerevisiae), P2 = 55% (Hymenachne Acutigluma) + 30% palm oil + 15% consentate + 0.05% (Saccharomycas Cerevisiae), P3 = 55% of copper grass + 15% palm oil + 15% cassava leaves + 15% consentate + 0,05% (Saccharomycas Cerevisiae). Parameters observed were SCFA concentration (mM), Methane Gas (ppm), and Gas production (mL / Hour) in vitro. The results showed that raccoon grass (Hymenachne Acutigluma) combined cassava leaves, palm oil and yeast Sc suplementation resulted in a significantly different concentration of SCFA, methane gas and gas production (P <0.05) in vitro. Based on research result, it can be concluded that R2 treatment (30% palm oil and 0.05% yeast Sc) is able to supply primary energy source of livestock with SCFA concentration of 115,25 mM, and have lower methane gas concentration value that is 537,97 ppm, and can increase the gas production rate of 1.44 mL / hour?Keywords: Combination, Gas Production, Hymenachne Acutigluma, Methane, SCFA.
