Abstract

This article is seen as one response to the Clash of Civilization thesis and wanted to test the accuracy of the analysis of Samuel Huntington back in the context of the uniqueness of Islam in Indonesia.The story begins when Samuel P. Abstract

Dalam Symposium on Southeast Asian Studies, yang diadakan untuk menghormati seorang profesor yang akan pensiun, di Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam (2001) saya menyajikan sebuah makalah, yang berjudul Neither “out there” nor “the other”. Dalam makalah singkat, yang kemudian diterbitkan SEASREP di Manila, saya sampai pada kesimpulan bahwa ketika menulis karya sejarah akademis tentang Asia Tenggara, apalagi tentang negeri sendiri, saya sadar benar bahwa saya tidak berbicara tentang hal-hal yang terjadi “di sana” (di negeri orang) dan bukan pula tentang “orang lain” (bangsa lain) . Perasaan ini semakin terasa kalau saya berhadapan dengan sejarah kontemporer—yaitu rentetan peristiwa yang terasa seperti langsung dialami. Akan tetapi, memang sejarah kontemporer bukanlah sebagaimana dikatakan seorang teoretikus “a foreign country, tempat orang berbuat yang aneh-aneh. Keyakinan ini bertambah kuat juga setelah saya membaca buku Shades of Grey, memoir Jusuf Wanandi. Meskipun buku ini mengisahkan pengalaman pribadi sang penulis dalam dunia perpolitikan Indonesia, suasana yang diuraikannya menggugah apa yang rasanya pernah saya alami. Senang, marah, dongkol, dan sebagainya adalah berbagai corak perasaan yang pernah saya alami ketika berbagai peristiwa politik di tanah air terjadi. Tetapi lebih daripada itu, buku ini dengan begitu saja mengingatkan kita—atau setidaknya saya—bahwa berkisah tentang peristiwa sosial-politik kontemporer tanah air sebenarnya kita berhadapan dengan tiga lapis pengetahuan.

Abstract

Tourism is one of industries that is growing quite rapidly and cannot be separated from the roles of other sectors. One of those sectors is transportation. Air transportation service, as the most important transportation, needs assistance from airport that has one of tourism elements which is accessibility. One of the airports in Indonesia, which is Husein Sastranegara Bandung airport, always faces increase in the number of passengers in every year which cause over capacity. It makes PT Angkasa Pura II, as the maintainer of the airport, receive many complaints from the passengers. Those complaints will affect the passengers’ satisfaction. In order to decrease service failure, the airport management applies service recovery in the form of actions, efforts, or process to increase passengers satisfaction. In this study, service recovery that consists of procedural justice, interactive justice and outcome justice. In the other hand, passengers satisfaction which is obtained from the comparison result between the performance perceived by the passengers (perceived) and the passengers’ expectation (expected).The population of respondents in this study is 100 passengers who have ever made complaints and received service recovery at Husein Sastranegara airport. The method used in this study is descriptive- explanatory method with less than a year length of research (cross sectional method). The data analysis and hypothesis test technique used in this study is multiple linear regression. The purposes of this study are to gain and/or get the result about passengers satisfaction towards service recovery. The result of this study shows that the entire dimension of service recovery has significant influence towards passengers satisfaction.

Abstract

Tourism is an industry that is considered promising is helping the economy and prosperity of a country. There are many things that support tourism, a sector that is important in the means of accomodation. There are several accomodation facilities such as travel agent, hotels and restaurants. Hotel is one property which is important for travelers to stay. Nowdays, competition among hotel industries is very high. There are a lot of hotel that have proven strategies in marketing their hotels. The Royale Krakatau is one of hotels which located in Cilegon, Banten area. The royale krakatau hotel is a hotel that has been existing for a long time, was originally only in the form of a guest house, and now it has become a 4 star hotel. Although the royale krakatau hotel has been existing for a long time, the available facilities are not less complete than other hotels. The royale krakatau hotel does various methods to compete than other hotels in order to enhance guest staying decision. One of them is by using green hotel program. Green hotel is a strategy in which the implementation of thie program considers several things such as clean, green, and well-organized environment concept. Green hotel is x variable in this study which consist of recyled materials, recyclable, Low-polluting and energy saving. The depend variable in this study is a decision to stay which consist of product selection, brand selection, visit time, total purchases and payment method. This reserch is descriptive verification, and sampling method is obtained from 100 respondent of FIT guest who stay at The Royale Krakatau Hotel Cilegon. The used technique of data analysis and hypothesis testing is multiple regression analysis. The result showed that the positive influances between hotel program an decison to stay at The Royale Krakatau Hotel Cilegon.

Abstract

Motivasi wisatawan dalam melakukan perjalanan merupakan suatu hal yang selalu menarikuntuk dipelajari. Hal ini disebabkan karena motivasi merupakan penggerak wisatawan hinggaakhirnya berkunjung ke suatu destinasi. Sumedang sebagai destinasi wisata tentu memilikicitra tersendiri di benak para wisatawan dan calon wisatawan.Citra ini dapat berupa citrapositif ataupun negatif.Maka dari itu dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahuipengaruh destination image terhadap motivasi berkunjung wisatawan ke KabupatenSumedang.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksplanatori dengan teknik pengumpulan datamenggunakan kuesioner, observasi dan studi kepustakaan.Kuesioner disebarkan kepada 250responden yang merupakan wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Sumedang.Teknik analisis datayang digunakan adalah analisis korelasi dan regresi.Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapatpengaruh yang signifikan dari destination image terhadap motivasi berkunjung wisatawan keKabupaten Sumedang.Kata kunci: destination image, motivasi perjalanan

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kondisi luas dan kerapatan hutan manggrove di Pulau Mare Maluku Utara yang dihubungkan dengan aktivitas penduduk dan keterbatasan kemampuan lahan di Pulau Mare. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat kerapatan hutan mangrove dan pengaruh  aktivitas masyarakat yang terhadap kerapatan hutan mangrove.Pengumpulan data kondisi hutan mangrove menggunakan data hasil interpretasi dan klasifikasi kerapatan mangrove dari citra Landsat 8 OLI/TIRStahun perekaman 2016 sedangkan kondisi sosial ekonomi yaitu pendidikan formal, pengetahuan dan pendapatan masyarakat dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Untuk melihat pengaruh antara variabel aktivitas sosial ekonomi masyarakat terhadap kerapatan hutan mangrove diolah dengan cara tabulasi silang.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan luasan mangrove berkerapatan tinggi, diperoleh luasan 36,1% dari luasan vegetasi mangrove yang ada di pulau ini, tetapi keberadaanya  lebih dominan tumbuh di zona pantai berbentuk teluk yang terdiri atas subtrat pasir dan lumpur. Selain itu, luasan mangrove dengan kerapatan rendah diperoleh sekitar 63,9% dari luasan vegetasi mangrove secara keseluruhan, dan distribusi pertumbuhannya lebih menyebar ke arah darat serta diselingi dengan beberapa tumbuhan ikutan yang bukan dari jenis mangrove. Kondisi perkembangan dan pertumbuhan vegetasi mangrove di pulau Mare cenderung berkembang dengan cukup baik dan alami dan sangat terpengaruh dari bentuk marfologi fisik lingkungan tempat tumbuhnya.Pengaruh aktivitas sosial ekonomi penduduk di pulau Mare juga relatif kecil pengaruhnyaterhadap kondisi keberadaan vegetasi mangrove.Kata Kunci: kerapatan mangrove, aktivitas penduduk, kerusakan hutan mangrove

Abstract

Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta Resort and Spa strive to provide good service to the‘’in touch’’ service oriented so that guests experience a memorable service. In order to get the guests who willing to stay longer, recommending and repurchasing, then Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta conduct stratergi namely Star Customer Experience. The purpose of this research is to describe the customer service experience as the independent variable (X), describe of behavior intentions as the dependent variable (Y) and analyze the effect of customer service experience towards behavior intentions. The method used in this research is descriptive and verification due to this research is conducted less than one year so this research is a cross-sectional method. The sampling technique used is systematic random sampling with a sample of 100 first-timer guests. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression. The results showed that the highest score in customer service experience is the sub-variables for the assessment of empathy while the lowest is recognition. The highest valuation for the variables dimensions of behavior intentions is repurchasing intention while dimension of willingness to recommend is the lowest. Simultaneously customer service experience significantly influence on behavior intentions.

Abstract

Batu City is one of the famous tourist destinations in Indonesia and has many tourism potentials. From 2011 to 2015 data on the number of domestic tourists who came to Batu City are fluctuated and leads to decline. Based on this phenomenon, this study was conducted. This study aimed to do the tourists’ assessment about tourism attributes in Batu City. This study is descriptive and qualitative. The number of respondents is 100 respondents who are domestic tourists in Batu City. The result of this study is hospitality attribute in Batu City got the highest average score among other attributes. Hopefully, this study could be a description for tourism stake holder in Indonesia especially Batu City to decide steps for planning tourism in the future.
