Abstract

Jahe (Zingiber officinale var emprit) merupakan salah satu komoditas andalan ekspor Indonesia yang memberikan peranan cukup berarti dalam penerimaan devisa negara. Daya guna bahan ini sangat erat hubungannya dengan komponen bioaktif yang terkandung didalamnya. Kualitas dan kuantitas minyak atsiri jahe emprit segar dan simplisia jahe kering dilaporkan guna memberi informasi kepada masyarakat mengenai efek dari pasca panen. Total minyak atsiri diperoleh melalui destilasi Stahl selama ± 6 jam, sedangkan analisis komponen minyak atsiri dilakukan dengan GC-MS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar minyak atsiri jahe segar dan simplisianya masing-masing 3,71% (v/w) dan kadar 0,94 % (v/w). Data GC-MS memperlihatkan bahwa jahe segar memiliki jenis minyak atsiri lebih banyak daripada jahe kering, selain jumlah zingiberinenya lebih dominan. Hasil penelitian dapat memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat bahwa jahe segar lebih baik dibandingkan dengan simplisia jahe kering.Gingeris an important herbal commodities of Indonesia. The utilityof this ginger is related to itsbioactive components. The analysis of qualityandquantity ofessential oilof freshanddriedginger are necessary in order to informaboutpost-harvest to the public. Totalessential oilobtained byStahldistillation for ±6hours, and their components are performedbyGC-MS. The results showed that essential oil of fresh and dried ginger are 3.71% (v/w)and 0.94% (v/w), respectively. GC-MS spectra indicatethatfreshgingerhas many types of volatileessential oil and zingeberenethandriedginger. Therefore, the results of this research can explain the public understanding that the freshgingeris better thandriedginger.

Abstract

The development of modern rapid detection techniques of fish freshness requires a new perspective of the importance of physical chemical characteristics during deterioration process of quality fishery products. Positive correlation between the changes of fish body and the electrical properties is a basic information for support the development of the detection modern techniques of fish freshness. Studies of the electrical properties become more relevant along with the increasing demand of fish fast food consumption and fish product from freshwater aquaculture, which have been less done until now. The objective of this study was to detect freshness of tilapia fillets using bioelectrical properties. The result showed that level of freshness of tilapia fillet can be detected by using bioelectrical which has correlation with TVB, TPC and pH. The level of freshness of tilapia fillet during 16 hours observation showed that impedance tend to decrease with the range of 44.34-6.30 Ω, while dielectric constant and the electrical conductivity tend to increase with range of 178,208 to 2,812,764 and 0.065 to 0.487 S/m.Key words: bioelectrical, fish freshness, tilapia fillet, quality deterioration

Abstract

Microwave heating is faster than the conventional way, therefore it is interesting to apply this technology for cocoa roasting. This research aimed to analyze the effect of microwave roasting of ground cocoa nib on the antioxidative properties of the crude polyphenol extract from the product.The results indicated that microwave roasting of ground cocoa nib for 5 min, adjusted at 20% of the full power (900W) gave no significant difference in the inhibition of linoleic acid oxidation and scavenging of DPPH radical activity of the crude polyphenol extract compared to that of the conventional roasting at 140 0C for 40 min. But the product showed higher reduction of ferric ion activity and lower chelating ferro ion activity. The crude polyphenol extract inhibited linoleic acid oxidation and scavenged DPPH free radical. The inhibition was lower than that of either BHT or a-tocoferol at concentrations lower than 400 ug/ml for linoleic acid oxidation and lower than 40 ug/ml for DPPH free radical scavenging. The crude polyphenol extract reduced ferric ion, though lower than BH.T Key words : Cocoa bean, microwave, roasting, polyphenol, antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Research on the vegetative propagation of Rhizophora mucronata using hypocotyl cutting sistem was carried out at Faculty of Forestry, Bogor Agricultural University. Histological analysis of adventitous shoot was done at Biotechnology and Tree Breeding Laboratory, SEAMEO-BIOTROP. Three types of hypocotyl cutting (complete hypocotyl, top part of cut-hypocotyl and bottom part of cut-hypocotyl) were induced using 6-BAP hormones at 0 and 500 ppm. Adventitous shoot of bottom part of cut-hypocotyl appeared 140 days after planting. Shoot from complete hypocotyl and top part of cut-hypocotyl grew earlier than adventitous shoot from bottom part of cut-hypocotyl. Hystologycal analysis of adventitous shoot showed the existance of primary meristem, stipule and leaf primordia. The growth of complete hipocotyl was higher than both of top part of cut-hypocotyl and bottom part of cut-hypocotyl. There was no effect of hormone induction on the shoot growth of them.

Abstract

Simultaneous heat and mass (moisture and oil) transfer process that occured during the frying process is modeled mathematically using the basic principal heat and mass transfer processes. Heat transfer within material was predicted by Fourier’s law of the conduction heat transfer mechanism, while mass transfer within material was formulated with Fick’s law of diffusion mechanism. The objective of this study was to develop mathematical model of the heat, moisture and oil transfer that occur simultaneously on the starchy food during the frying process. Solution of the model with numerical analysis using implicit finite difference method of Crank-Nicolson. The simulation output the model was presented as temperature, moisture and oil profiles during frying process.. Slabs of dried dough corn powder were fried in the fresh coconut oil at 1800C during 36 minutes . Temperature of material was recorded with datalogger during frying process, and some of sampel were taken from deep fryer at certain time for being measured its moisture and oil content. The model was verified with experimental data of temperature, moisture and oil profiles. It was obtained from this research that the simulation output and the experimental data was in a good agreement. Key words : Frying process, mathematical model, heat and mass transfer

And bind medical record also represent documentation network activity of medical service given by health institution to patient. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the influence of theknowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes and behaviors on the productivity of the employeesof the production department of PT Nusantara Building Industries. The population in thisstudy was 483 employees of the production department of PT Nusantara BuildingIndustries. While the samples were 83 respondents. The sampling techniques used wasnon probability sampling with convenience. The analysis tool used in this research wasmultiple linear regression, which was firstly examined by validity and reliability test. Theresults showed partially, it obtained by value for X1 = 3.800; X2 = 2.511; X3 = 2.216; X4= 2.188, and X5 = 3.945 while t table 1.991 that was in the area reject Ho, meaning therewas significant influence of between the knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes andbehaviors on the productivity of the employees of the production department of PTNusantara Building Industries. While the hypothesis test simultaneously with the testresults obtained F value = 28.757> F table = 2.333 was in the reject Ho area, meaningthat there was significant influence of knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes and behaviorson the productivity of the employees of the production department of PT NusantaraBuilding Industries. The coefficient of determination of the five independent variables =62.9% meaning that the variation of the five independent variables in explainingproductivity = 62.9% while the remaining 37.1% was explained by other variables thatwere not mentioned in this study.Keywords: productivity, knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes, and behaviors

Abstract

Anthocephalus macrophyllus (jabon merah) merupakan jenis pohon yang memiliki pertumbuhan relatif cepat danbanyak manfaat, antara lain untuk reforestasi, program CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) perusahaan, hutanrakyat, dan bahan baku industri. Jabon merah memiliki benih berukuran sangat kecil, bersifat semi rekalsitran, masaberbuah yang pendek serta penyebaran alaminya yang masih terpusat di daerah (Indonesia Timur) maka menyebabkanproduksi benih atau bibit yang berkualitas masih terbatas. Untuk itu dibutuhkan suatu teknologi pembibitan untukmendapatkan bibit A. macrophyllus berkualitas dan dalam jumlah yang memadai untuk menunjang keberhasilanprogram reforestrasi. Pembangunan kebun pangkas dan pembiakan vegetatif dengan cara stek merupakan salah satualternatif untuk pengadaan bibit jabon merah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) Mendapatkan teknologi penyiapan bahanstek; (2) Menguji pengaruh bahan stek dan hormon IBA terhadap keberhasilan stek jabon merah. Kebun pangkas yangdibangun berasal dari bibit jabon merah berumur 1 tahun dengan perlakuan pelengkungan batang dan dan pemberianNPK pada kebun pangkas berasal dari bibit jabon merah yang berumur 4 bulan, dan untuk pembuatan stekmenggunakan stek pucuk dan batang, sedangkan hormon yang digunakan adalah IBA dengan dosis 0 ppm, 500 ppm,1000 ppm, dan 1500 ppm. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok satu faktor untuk kebunpangkas dan dua faktor untuk stek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik pelengkungan batang dapatmeningkatkan produksi tunas pada minggu ke 1 hingga minggu ke 10 pada kebun pangkas umur 1 tahun, sedangkanpada kebun pangkas 4 bulan, pemberian NPK menurukan produksi tunas pada minggu ke 2 dan ke 4. Bahan stek batangberpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase stek hidup, persentase stek berakar dan jumlah tunas yang dihasilkan. Bahanstek pucuk kurang memuaskan untuk menghasilkan stek karena mudah layu dan mudah busuk.

Abstract

Pneumokonioses adalah penyakit yang disebabkan oleh penimbunan debu-debu dalam paru-paru. Pneumokonioses yang terjadi pada pekerja pertambangan batu kapur adalah silicosis yang disebabkan oleh SiO2. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian pneumokonioses pada pekerja pertambangan batu kapur di desa Kedung Winong Sukolilo Kabupaten Pati. Jenis pendekatan penelitian secara cross sectional, dengan jumlah sampel 84  pada pekerja pertambangan batu kapur di desa Kedung Winong Sukolilo Kabupaten Pati. Untuk mengetahui hubungan antar variabel dengan menggunakan analisis bivariat chi square. Hasil pengukuran pencemaran debu batu kapur di depan alat giling 3,25mg/m3 dan di belakang alat giling 2,25mg/m3. Hasil analisis hubungan pencemaran debu batu kapur dengan kejadian pneumokonioses diperoleh nilai p value: 0,003 dan OR: 13; lama kerja diperoleh nilai p value: 0,007 dan OR: 1,28; dan pemakaian APD(masker) diperoleh nilai p value: 0,003 dan OR: 1,3. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan pencemaran debu batu kapur, lama kerja dan pemakaian APD(masker) dengan kejadian pneumokonioses pada pekerja di pertambangan batu kapur Desa Kedungwinong Sukolilo Pati. Abstract

Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L Moenc) is plant for food, feed, and energy (bio-ethanol). There were two types of waste from bio-ethanol production, such as liquid and solid waste (baggase). Liquid waste was produced from ethanol distillation process, rich in nutrients as fertilizer, unfortunately limited information on nutritional content and potential function, especially as medium for forestry seedlings production. This experiment examined the effect of the Granular Organic Fertilizer of Sorghum liquid waste to Leda seedling growth in different soil type of Andosol, Latosol, and Podzolic; and to find the dose of Granular Organic Fertilizer for Leda seedling growth in each type of soil. This study was conducted on Factorial in Completely Randomized design. The result showed, the application of Granular Organic Fertilizer effected to almost all the growth parameters on three soil types. Best seedling quality index of leda was found in the combination of Andosol and 20 granules of Granular Organic Fertilizer with seedling quality index 30 points.Key words: andosol, granular organic fertilizer, latosol, podzolic, sorghum.
