Abstract

Mustofa, 2011. Penelitian adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif korelasional yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) hubungan antara kemampuan berpikir formal dengan kemampuan menggambarkan bentuk molekul siswa kelas XI MAN Model Gorontalo tahun ajaran 2010/2011; (2) hubungan antara kecerdasan visual-spasial dengan kemampuan menggambarkan bentuk molekul siswa kelas XI MAN Model Gorontalo tahun ajaran 2010/2011; dan (3) hubungan antara kemampuan berpikir formal dan kecerdasan visual-spasial dengan kemampuan menggambarkan bentuk molekul siswa kelas XI MAN Model Gorontalo tahun ajaran 2010/2011. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI.B1, XI.B2 dan XI.Bexcellent. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampel jenuh berjumlah 49 siswa. Uji normalitas data dengan menggunakan Chi-kuadrat, analisis data menggunakan analisis korelasi dan regresi sederhana, serta analisis korelasi ganda dan regresi ganda. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa kemampuan berpikir formal mempunyai hubungan yang positif dan signifikan dengan kemampuan menggambarkan bentuk molekul siswa kelas XI MAN Model Gorontalo tahun ajaran 2010/2011, yang ditunjukkan dengan hasil uji t dimana th lebih besar dari ttabel (3,4787 > 2,021). Kecerdasan visual-spasial mempunyai hubungan yang positif dan signifikan dengan kemampuan menggambarkan bentuk molekul siswa kelas XI MAN Model Gorontalo tahun ajaran 2010/2011, yang ditunjukkan dengan hasil uji t dimana th lebih besar dari ttabel (4,8843 > 2,021). Kemampuan berpikir formal dan kecerdasan visual-spasial secara bersama-sama mempunyai hubungan yang positif dan signifikan dengan kemampuan menggambarkan bentuk molekul siswa kelas XI MAN Model Gorontalo tahun ajaran 2010/2011, yang ditunjukkan dengan hasil uji F dimana Fh lebih besar dari Ftabel (12,94 > 3,20).

Abstract

Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) technique has been utilized intensively in industry for many years in order to increase the quality, decrease the cost and shorten the cycle time of a product. This  paper is a detail application of the technique in the pneumatic piston product. Abstract

Background : Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH), also known as Müllerian inhibiting substance, is a protein hormone to follicle development. Menstrual cycle that occurs outside the normal state or the interval pattern of menstruation that is less than 21 or more than 35 days with normal uterine bleeding time span of less than 3 or more than 7 days is irregular menstrual cycles. Objective : This study aimed to know the association AMH level and irregularly menstrual cycle at student of medical faculty and health sciences Jenderal Soedirman University. Method : This study was done at 26 subjects, use Analytic observational method with cross-sectional approach. Subjects was chosen by consecutive sampling technic and adapted to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Subjects asked to fasting 12 hours and then collect their blood until reach 10 cc. Data analysis used chi square then followed to coefficient contingency test with alt lambda test. Result : The level of AMH in irregular menstrual cycle group is 8.87 ng/ml. It shows a higher yield than regular menstruation group (4.28 ng/ml). The result of this study there is have association between AMH level and irregularly menstrual cycle at student of medical faculty and health sciences Jenderal Soedirman University. p 0,001 and 95 % CI = 1,828 – 83,767 that showed there was moderate association. Conclusion : There is strong association between AMH level and irregularly menstrual cycle at student of medical faculty and health sciences General Soedirman University, The study shows a very strong association that abnormal of serum AMH will have irregular menstrual cycles, whereas AMH levels are relatively normal will have regular menstrual cycles

Abstract

Actinomycetes have been the most prolific producer of various kinds of antifungal metabolites, and many of them are described as being produced by polyketide synthetases (pks). We present strain of Actinomycetes producing anticandida isolated from rhizosphere plant for amplification of Pks-I genes. The isolate was obtained from Wanagama I Forest UGM Yogyakarta. Gene of seven isolates, from total of 173 isolates, were amplified using degenerate primer to detect the presence of pks genes. One strain that is named Streptomyces sp. GMR-22 was partialy identified as anticandida producing actinomycete. The strain shown the strongest activity against Candida albicans. Based on bioautography assay, one spot active with Rf 0.57 was appeared as bright yellow by cerrium sulphate but it was and not visible on UV254 and 366 lights. Abstract

Some plants, such as Ipomoea batatas Poir., Mussaenda pubescens Ait. F., Portulaca oleracea L., Brucea javanica L. (Meer), have been used traditionally to treat cancer, even though the scientific base of this activity has yet been completely investigated. The study was conducted to evaluate the cytotoxic activity of these plants on HeLa cell lines.The cytotoxicity of chloroform extract from these plants were determined using micro radioactive method by measuring an incorporation (3H)-hipoxanthine on the cells after 24 and 48 hours incubation with each extract, using doxorubicine as a positive control. Extract free cell culture was refered to as 100% growth. IC50 value, showing 50% inhibition of the cell growth, was determined based on the concentration versus percentage inhibition curves.The result showed the extract B. javanica was the most active to hela cells with the IC50 value of 13.69 1.07 and 55.78.4 g/ml after 24 and 48 hours incubation respectively.Key words: Ipomoea batatas Poir., Mussaenda pubescens Ait. Abstract

Antiplasmodial activity of fractions A and B obtained from n-hexane extract of stem bark of Garcinia parvifolia have been evaluated. The in vitro antiplasmodial activity was investigated on two strains of Plasmodium falciparum, FCR-3 a chloroquine resistant and D10, a chloroquine sensitive strains and their antiplasmodial activity was expressed by the concentration inhibiting 50.% of the parasite growth (IC50). The results showed that the fractions A and B were active against P. falciparum with the IC50 values of 2,79 ± 0,10 μg/mL and 12,30 ± 1,21.μg/mL on FCR-3 strain and 1,52 ± 0,24.μg/mL and 4,66 ± 1,24 μg/mL on D10 strain. Identification of active constituents in the both fractions showed the existence of triterpenoide, steroide and flavonoide compounds.Key words: Antiplasmodial activity , Garcinia parvifolia, active constituents.

Abstract

The rapidly increasing resistance of Plasmodium falciparum to the most commonly used antimalarial drug indicates the urgent need for new antimalarial compounds. Previous study showed that among thirteen derivatives of 1,10-phenanthroline, four compounds were active in vitro and potential for further development. The study was conducted to provide the in vivo antiplasmodial activity of four 1,10-phenanthroline derivatives and to evaluate the possibility of their mechanism of action. The in vivo antiplasmodial activity of the four compounds was evaluated by a standard 4-day test on Plasmodium venckei petteri infected mice. The study of haem polymerization inhibitory activity (HPIA) and the potentiating of those compounds in combination with halofantrine and inhibitor protease (E64) were carried out to evaluate its mechanism of actions. The results showed that among four compounds tested, compound 1 (2,10-methyl-3-(2-chloroethyl)-4-chloropirydo [2,3-i] quinolineium iodide) was the most active compound with DE50 was 0.22 ± 0.03 mg/kg BW. This molecule less active than halofantrine, but more active than chloroquine. The HPIA of 1,10-phenanthroline derivatives tested (IC50 HPIA was 1.57-1.95 mmol/well) did not vary significantly. These IC50 HPIA values were significantly lower than halofantrine (CI50 HPIA was 0.12 ± 0.04 mmol/well) and than chloroquine (CI50 HPIA was 0.75 ± 0.03 mmol/well). Combination the 1,10-phenanthroline derivatives and halofantrine produced simple additive effect that implies that each drug posses a different mechanism of action. Conversely, there was antagonist interaction between 1,10-phenanthroline derivatives and E64 showing that the drugs have a similar mechanism of action. It can be concluded that the compound 1 appears as a potential antimalarial compound. In addition, the possible mechanism of action of this compound is inhibitation of protease involved in haemoglobine degradation within the malaria parasite.Key words : 1,10-phenanthroline – in vivo antiplasmodial – haem polymerization inhibitoryactivity – protease inhibitor .

Abstract

The  quassinoids  from  Brucea  javanica exhibit  biological  activities  as antimalarial,  antitumor,  antiviral  and  antiamoebic  activities.  These  quassinoids having  a  promising  antitumor  activity.This  research was  aimed  to  isolated quassinoid  (bruceine  A,  MW  522  g/mol)   compound  from  B.  javanica and  to investigate  the  cytotoxicity  of  bruceine  A  under  invitro conditions  in  Hela  cells. The  cytotoxicity  assays   using   MTT  assay.  The  bruceine   showed  a  good cytotoxic  activity  in  Hela cells  at  24  hours  with  doxorubicine  as  a  positive control.  Structural  elucidation  of   bruceine   is  done  by   using  UV  and  FT-IR spectra,  NMR  spectra   recorded  on  Tesla  av600,  (400 MHz) 1HNMR  in  pyridine (D5),  some  in  Gyro  (300  MHz) 1HNMR  in  acetone-(d6),  DMSO-(d6)  and  CdCl3 ,13CNMR,  75  MHz,  mass  spectra  on  biospectrometry  LC-MS.  Analytical  HPLC retention time,tRwas 4.617 minutes (Met/H20) 60:40. Its Molecular formula was determined  to  be  (  C26 H34  O11)  by  the  [M+H]+ ion  peak  at  m/z  523 and  m/z 1045 confirmed by High Resolution mass spectra Orbitrap (HRESIMS). From the results demonstrated that could be bruceine A compound refers to our spectral data.  Its  has   activity  in  IC50 value  191,5  µM  on  Hela  Cells  under  invitro conditions.Key words: Quassinoid, B. javanica,Brusein A, Spectroscopic, Anticancer

Abstract

Kajian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif berupa kajian pustaka. Perpustakaan menjadi pusat kebudayaan terpenting, yaitu pada masa pemerintahan Abbasiyah, hasil karya terjemahan dan karang mengarang mengalami perkembangan, produksi kertas mengalami kemajuan dan penyalinan buku berkembang. Selanjutnya pada masa pertengahan  peradaban Islam mengalami kemunduran dibandingkan dengan masa-masa sebelumnya, yaitu masa bani Umayah dan masa bani Abbasiyah, Kemunduran peradaban Islam tidak terlepas dari dunia perpustakaan. Ilmu yang telah dipaksa dihilangkan melalui pembakaran ataupun pembuangan buku-buku perpustakaan Islam sangat berdampak buruk bagi peradaban umat Islam. Akhirnya, sangatlah diperlukan suatu kesadaran bersama bagi masyarakat Islam untuk merubah pemikiran bahwa kemajuan tidak dapat dicapai tanpa usaha dan penguasaan terhadap suatu ilmu pengetahuan. Salah satu aspek yang diperlukan adalah tersedianya sumber informasi dan ilmu dari sebuah lembaga seperti perpustakaan, yang memadai untuk mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran dan sebagai tempat untuk penelitian untuk menemukan ilmu-ilmu baru sebagaimana dilakukkan oleh para ulama dan ilmuan Islam terdahulu pada masa kemajuan pemikiran dan peradaban Islam.
