Abstract

Crude fat and fatty acids composition were examined in red tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and Asian redtail catfish (Macrones nemurus) farmed in cage at Kampar River. Two types of lipids were extracted using chloroform:methanol sohxlet extraction. The fatty acid composition were analyzed by gas chromatography (GC). The result showed that the crude lipids in muscle of fishes change according to the age, but did not change by species. The crude lipids in Macrones nemurus were higher than the Oreochromis niloticus, ranging from 3.74-5.82% and 3.89-4.78 recpectively. Furthermore differences acid (omega-9) and palmitic acid. The percentage of fatty acids omega-3 in Macrones nemurus and in Orechromis niloticus, ranging from 4.1-7.8% and 3.4-7.0% respectively, 4.7-11.5% and 5.8-7.2 respectively for fatty acids omega-6.Keywords: composition, farmed freshwater fishes, fatty acids, Macrones nemurus, Oreochromis niloticus.

Abstract

Supply Response Analysis of Potato Farmers in the Kayu Aro Subdistrict, Kerinci Regency. In Otonomi Daerah (OTDA) era, Regional government efforts to look for regional potency in order to increaseRegional Income. Potato in Kerinci Regency has given a significant contribution in Kerinci’s PDRB. Supply response and input demand by potatoes’farmers in Kayu Aro District Kerinci Regency was estimated by using profit function. The objective of this study is to analyze supply response on potatoes’farmers. Research was conducted in Kayu Aro District Kerinci Regency from August to December 2007. About 65 potato farmers were collected by simple random sampling in three villages Kayu Aro District. The result showed that farmers do maximize their profit in short term and response to price changing efficiently. Potato’s supply elasticity with considering its price was closed to one (Sbi = 0,983)Pada masa Otonomi Daerah (OTDA), Pemerintah Daerah berupaya untuk mencari potensi daerah dalam rangka meningkatkan Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD). Kentang di Kabupaten Kerinci telah memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan pada peningkatan PDRB daerah Kerinci. Respon penawaran dan permintaan input oleh petani yang mengusahakan kentang di Kecamatan Kayu Aro Kabupaten Kerinci diestimasi menggunakan analisis fungsi keuntungan. Tujuan studi ini untuk menganalisis respon penawaran petani kentang. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Kayu Aro Kabupaten Kerinci dari bulan Agustus sampai dengan Desember 2007. Sebanyak 65 petani kentang diambil secara acak di tiga desa Kecamatan Kayu Aro. Hasil memperlihatkan bahwa petani benar-benar memaksimumkan keuntungannya dalam jangka pendek dan respon terhadap perubahan harga secara efisien. Elastisitas penawaran kentang dengan mempertimbangkan harganya sendiri mendekati satu (Sbi = 0,983).
