Abstract

Makassar city of South Sulawesi Province has potency and opportunity to develop fisheries industry to become the biggest fisheries industry in the eastern Indonesian region.  Geographically, the Makassar city is located in a strategic eastern Indonesian region that bringing consequency to become the gate of export for trading product.  The research objectives are to create development model of fisheries industry in Makassar city base on the fishing port, to describe the existing condition of fishing activities and its influence level to formulate significant influence factors, and to formulate development strategy of fisheries industry in Makassar city.  This research was conducted from March to November 2009 in Makassar city.  Data was taken from fishery industries as respondent, such as fishing characteristic, fishing industry, management industry, export, and policy.  The result of SEM analysis showed the goodness of fit index criterias, namely: chi-square, probability, RMSEA, CFI, IFI, GFI, AGFI, and PGFI.  Based on the regression analysis on weight values of the interaction with other factors, it can be significant or non-significant relation, wherereas the significant relation is necessary.  The goverment policy on the development of Untia Archipelago Fishing Port in Makassar city is to continue fishing activity to provide materials of fishery industry.  Developing model of fisheries industry base on the fishing port with eight factors can be used to plan the fishery industry development.   Key words: model, fishing port, fishery industry, SEM

Abstract

Hydrogels are polymers with three-dimensional structure that useful to immobilize drugs as sustained release system. Immobilization of resorcinol in the polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel (PVA) is prepared by combination of freeze thawing (1-3 cycles) and gamma irradiation (10-30 Gy). The chemical structure of hydrogels was characterized by Fourier Transform- Infra Red (FT-IR) spectrophotometer. Gel fraction and water absorption were measured by gravimetry. The release of resorcinol was determined by Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer. The results of evaluation showed that by increasing the number freeze-thawing up to 3 cycles and irradiation dose to 30 kGy, the gel fraction can reach up 95 %. In contrast, the water absorption of hydrogels decreases from 600 % to 200 %, and the decreasing release profile of water absorption of hydrogels (at the same condition) was similar with the release profile of resorcinol from 88 % to 59%. The combination of freeze-thawing and gamma irradiation can be considered as one of the immobilization techniques for sustained drug release.Keywords: PVA, Hydrogel, Resorcinol, Irradiation, Freezing thawing.

Abstract

In order to use the fisheries waste, isolation of gelatin has been carried out from Lates calcarifer scales and then synthesized to be cross-linked gelatin by induction of gamma irradiation at irradiation dose of 0-50 kGy. Chemical structures change of irradiated gelatin was characterized by using UV-Vis and FT-IR spectrophotometer. The viscosity of gelatin was measured by using viscosimeter. The results showed that radiation dose correlate linearly to absorbance and viscosity of gelatin solution at doses of 10-30 kGy. While at doses 40-50 kGy, gelatin solution was transformed from solution to gel with significant change in FT-IR spectrum. Based on this result, gamma irradiation technique should be considered as a safe and quick technique to synthesis cross-linked gelatin.Keywords: Fish scale, Gelatin, Gamma irradiation, Crosslinking.

Abstract

The State Islamic High-School of Gajah Tutih a higher education institution that has been established since 1984 and continues to exist until now. The study, entitled "The Development of State Islamic High-School of Gajah Putih Takengon, Regency of Middle Aceh, 1984 to 2017" "aims to (1) know The Development of State Islamic High-School of Gajah Putih, 1984 to 2017 seen in terms of infrastructure, number of students, number of teachers, employees and others,  (2 ) knowing the factors that influenceThe Development of State Islamic High-School of Gajah Putih, 1984 to 2017, and (3) know the impact of the existence of The Development of State Islamic High-School of Gajah Putih for the surrounding community, 1984 to 2017. The study uses a qualitative approach with historical methods. The source of this research data consists of primary sources (archive data, interviews, observations) and secondary sources (reading literature). Data collection techniques are documentation, interviews and observation. Based on the results of the study it can be seen that (1) The White Elephant STAIN from 1984 to 2017 continued to develop in aspects of leadership, student affairs, lecturers of study programs, facilities and infrastructure and including the number of alumni (2) Factors that affecting The Development of State Islamic High-School of Gajah Putih Takengon is a professional teaching staff and support of the Middle Aceh Regency government, and (3) The impact of the existence of the state Islamic high-school of Gajah Tutih for the community is mainly seen in the economy marked by the opening of employment opportunities such as trading businesses, attracting good workers as permanent employees, contract and emolument.the state Islamic high-school in social field has an impact with the increasing motivation of the local community to send their family members to a higher level, in the social and cultural fields, giving birth to new scholars who contribute a lot to the lives of local people.Keywords: the state Islamic high-school of Gajah Tutih, of Middle Aceh.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pergantian pakan. penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Susunan perlakuan adalah sebagai berikut : Perlakuan A : eguchi 10 hari dan infusoria 10 hari, Perlakuan B : infusoria 10 hari dan eguchi 10 hari, Perlakuan C : Eguchi 20 hari, Perlakuan D : Infusoria 20 hari dan Perlakuan E : campuran eguchi 50% dan Infusoria 50% selama 20 hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 20 hari untuk mengetahui laju pertumbuhan spesifik bobot, laju pertumbuhan mutlak panjang, kelangsungan hidup dan kualitas air sebagai data penunjang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pergantian pakan alami dengan pakan buatan menghasilkan respon yang baik dalam pertumbuhan larva ikan gurami. Pergantian pakan buatan (eguchi) dengan pakan alami (infusoria)(perlakuan A) memberikan hasil terbaik dengan rata – rata laju pertumbuhan spesifik bobot 5,3256%, rata – rata laju pertumbuhan mutlak panjang 5.70 mm dan rata – rata kelangsungan hidup 78.89%.  Kata Kunci : Infusoria, Eguchi, Larva Ikan Gurami, Laju Pertumbuhan ABSTRACT Research was aimed to determine the change of feed. research using completely randomized design consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The composition of the treatment is as follows: Treatment A: Eguchi 10 days and infusoria 10 days, Treatment B: infusoria 10 days and Eguchi 10 days, Treatment C: Eguchi 20 days, Treatment D: Infusoria 20 days and Treatment E: a mixture of Eguchi 50% and infusoria 50% for 20 days. This research was conducted for 20 days to determine the specific growth rate weight, the absolute growth rate of long survival and quality of water as supporting data. The results showed turnover natural feed with artificial feed to produce a good response in the growth of larval carp. Substitution of artificial feed (Eguchi) with natural food (infusoria) (treatment A) gives the best results with the average - average specific growth rate 5.3256% weighted, averageabsolute growth rate, average length of 5.70 mm and survival rate 78.89% . Keywords : Infusoria, Eguchi, Fish larvae Gurame, Growth Rate

Abstract

The conversion of forests to non-forests by communities has resulted in the loss of forest ecosystems and a reductionin the area of land that can be utilized for nature tourism at Menumbing Mountain Grand Forest Park (MMGFP).Revegetation is needed by planting several types of forest vegetation that generate economic benefits for the communityas well as attracting natural tourism in MMGFP utilization block such as durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) and rambutan(Nephelium lappaceum L.). It is necessary to evaluate utilization block to ensure that both species grow well andproductivity of fruits have optimal yield. This study aims to obtain recommendations for improvements of the land qualityalong with the suitable characteristics to be limiting the growth of durian and rambutan. Suitability evaluation of durianand rambutan refers to the land suitability classification criteria compiled by Indonesian Center for Agricultural LandResources Research and Development by matching the growth requirements of both types with land utilization blockcharacteristics. Durian and rambutan are considered to be marginally suitable (S3) for planting in most land utilizationblock. The limiting factor of durian and rambutan is rooting medium, i.e texture and nutrient retention, comprising pH ororganic carbon (C-organic). The texture of the soil can not be modified because it is permanent. Soil pH can beincreased through liming. The soil C-organic content can be increased through the application of organic fertilizer. Afterboth efforts are made, the planted durian and rambutan are likely to grow well and productivity of the fruit will beoptimal so that revegetation in the utilization block will be successful and problems faced in MMGFP will be solved.Key words: Liming, marginally suitable, organic fertilizer, revegetation
