Abstract

Bee activities and colony may affect the production of bee products. Bee-pollen is one of the important products of honeybees, besides of honey. Tetragonula laeviceps is a group member of stingless bees found in tropical region. In Indonesia, Tetragonula laeviceps mostly create a nest in bamboos that make unfortunately difficult for harvesting of its products. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different beehives size and the daily activity (morning vs. afternoon) of stingless bee Tetragonula laeviceps on bee-pollen production. This study was conducted in Ngrandu, Katongan Village, Sub-district of Nglipar, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. Forty colonies of Tetragonula laeviceps were obtained from bamboos (similar in diameter and length) were transferred into four different group of beehives size (BS) made from dried wood, respectively: 35x17.5x13.5 (BS1); 35x20x17.5 (BS2); 37.5x20x20 (BS3) and 40x20x20 cm (BS4). Each group of beehives size had ten colonies/beehives as replicates. The colonies consisted of a queen bee, eggs, worker bees, and drones were transferred into wood beehives, and they were kept for two months for the study. The bee-pollen was harvested from beehives, separated from the propolis then weighed. The production of bee-pollen in the four different beehives size (BS1: 2.34±2.48 g/colony; BS2: 4.56±3.94 g/colony; BS3: 1.30±1.22 g/colony, BS4: 1.02±0.63 g/colony) was not different (ns) among the groups. The daily activity of bee bring the pollen to the nest in the morning (07.00 to 11.00) was significantly different (P<0.05) among the groups, but not significant (ns) different in the afternoon (14.00 to 17.00). The frequency of bringing in pollen into the hives at the morning is higher than at the afternoon (21.75 vs. 12.43 times/5 minutes). It could be concluded that the colony in beehive size of BS2 (35x20x17.5 cm) has higher daily activities and thus higher bee-pollen production, compared to the other beehives groups.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the type of plants for honeybees forages in Pakem Sleman and Nglipar Gunungkidul. This research was conducted from 16 March to 12 May 2016. The method used was direct observation in the plantations, fields, and forests. The type of plants observed were dominant plants, so can be developed beekeeping, honey. To determine the type of plants that produce nectar and pollen, one or two samples of flower in each plant were taken, then the availability of nectar and pollen was checked. The data of honeybees forage types were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the type of honeybees forages in Pakem Sleman consisted of coconut, coffee, banana, calliandra, avocado, rice, albizia, chili, tomato, long beans, mustard green, maize, cucumber, melinjo, mahogany, cassava, and cherry. Honeybees forages in Nglipar Gunungkidul consisted of coconut, albizia, acacia, banana, peanuts, tamarind, eucalyptus, rambutan, sorghum, cacao, soybeans, cassava, maize, rice, rose wood, mahogany, and cherry. Thus, Pakem Sleman and Nglipar Gunungkidul have great potential for development of beekeeping honey.

Abstract

The latitude will influence plant type that growth, water availability, soil nutrients, temperature, humidity, rainfall, and sunlight, so that  impact on the ability of plant for flowering. This research was aimed to determine the types of honeybees forages as the source of nectar, pollen and the both based on the latitude in Yogyakarta.  The Research has been conducted in District of Cangkringan and Turi Sleman and Patuk Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. The research used methods directly survey to observe in plantation area, field, and forest. Identification of plant type for produce nectar and pollen was taken one or two samples, then check the availability of nectar and pollen. The data  of type of bee forage were analyzed by descriptive analysis. The results of research showed that the type of bee forage in Cangkringan with latitude of 500 ? 900 and > 1000 m asl were 23 plants consisted of coconut, sugarcane, rice, sengon, chili, tomato, bean, banana, corn, cucumber, melinjo, mahogany, walnut, durian, sesbania grandiflora, cocoa, cherry, eggplant, sweet potato, cassava and acacia. The District of Turi with latitude of 500 ? 900 and > 1000 m asl were 18 plants consisted of coconut, calliandra, rice, tomato, banana, corn, mahogany, rambutan, durian, mango, papaya, avocado, jackfruit, guava, melinjo, kapok, sweet potato and cocoa. The District of Patuk with latitude of  200 ? 700 m asl were 28 plants consisted of cacao, rice, corn, cassava, peanut, soybean, chili, eggplant, melinjo, orange, guava, durian, avocado, mango, rambutan, starfruit, sapodilla, papaya, banana, jackfruit, breadfruit, leucaena, rosewood, acacia, mahogany, albizzia, sweet potato and coconut. The type of bee forage as the source of nectar and pollen in Yogyakarta is varied so is potential for the development beekeeping honeybees.

Abstract

Shrimp skin contains chitin that is the second largest biopolymer after cellulose. The chitin can be isolated to produce chitosan. Chitosan is a natural adhesive that can be applied in producing particleboards to substitute formaldehyde-based adhesives. The purpose of this study was to analyze the hot-pressing condition in term of temperature and pressing time on the physical and mechanical properties of the particleboards produced by using chitosan as adhesives. The particleboards were made with the size of 25x25x0.7 cm and target density of 0.75 g/cm3. The particleboards were produced using different temperatures (160ºC, 180ºC, and 200ºC) and pressing times (9, 12, and 15 minutes. The results showed that the chitosan produced met the standards, and temperature and compression time had a significant interaction effect on the thickness swelling and modulus of elasticity. The optimum combination of temperature and pressing time is 180ºC and 12 minutes, respectively. The produced boards have the characteristics of moisture content 12.2%, density 0.81, water absorption 84.47%, thickness swelling 19.73%, modulus of rupture 143.36 kg/cm2, modulus of elasticity 23,367.79 kg/cm2, and internal bonding 9.03 kg/cm2.

Abstract

Program IbM Vokasi di Desa, yang berarti mengisi kevakuman kegiatan kelompok pemuda (Karang Taruna Tobat)  dan Kelompok Tani (masyarakat) telah dilakukan dengan memberi pembekalan, pengetahuan, keterampilan, kecakapan hidup, pelatihan  dan workshop di desa, berbasis potensi dan kearifan lokal, selain itu untuk pengembangan diri, pengembangan profesi, bekerja, berusaha mandiri, dan / atau menyarankan melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi dalam hal ini ke pendidikan vokasi Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang, semua itu bertujuan satu yaitu untuk meningkatkan taraf  hidup masyarakat khususnya masyarakat desa Tobatang.Transfer teknologi tepat guna yang diberikan kepada masyarakat di desa ini melalui proses sosialisasi, penggunaan peralatan yang tepat, pelatihan dan workshop cara pemasangan instalasi listrik beserta groundingnya (Pembumian) sesuai PUIL 2000;  perawatan dan perbaikan motor pompa air listrik; Lampu LHE ; Kipas angin; Televisi; dan perkakas listrik dan elektronika lainnya, dengan tujuan minimal apabila rusak dapat memperbaiki sendiri dan diharapkan dapat membuka peluang usaha baru, sehingga tidak hilang begitu saja ketika program Ibm berakhir. Monitoring dan evaluasi juga tetap dilakukan untuk melihat perkembangan kegunaan pelatihan dan workshop ini, baik dari sisi output, manfaat dan dampaknya pada masyarakat, sehingga capaian luaran dapat dioptimalkan dalam jangka waktu lama dan diharapkan pula ada keberlanjutan program yang lebih luas dengan melibatkan Pemda, industri, sehingga kapasitas untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat dapat ditingkatkan lagi.

Abstract

Gangguan hubung singkat merupakan suatu hubungan abnormal pada impedansi yang terjadi antara dua titik atau lebih yang mempunyai potensial yang berbeda. Gangguan hubung singkat adalah gangguan yang sering terjadi pada penyaluran energi listrik, untuk meningkatkan keandalan sistem pada sistem proteksi maka perlu  menganalisis arus gangguan hubung singkat yang terjadi pada jaringan distribusi 20 KV dan menganalisis perbandingan nilai arus hubung singkat antara metode perhitungan dan simulasi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Kemudian dilakukan analisis data dengan metode perhitungan dan simulasi menggunakan software DigSilent Power Factory 14.1.3. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa besarnya arus gangguan hubung singkat dipengaruhi oleh jarak titik gangguan, semakin jauh jarak titik gangguan maka semakin kecil arus gangguan hubung singkat yang terjadi begitupun sebaliknya, semakin dekat jarak titik gangguan maka semakin besar arus gangguan hubung singkat yang terjadi. Hasil perhitungan arus gangguan hubung singkat I3fasa = 1954 A, I2fasa = 1692 A,  I2fasa-tanah = 1837 A dan I1fasa-tanah = 260 A. Dari hasil simulasi diperoleh nilai arus hubung singkat I3fasa = 1956 A, I2fasa = 1694 A, I2fasa-tanah = 1747 A dan I1fasa-tanah = 244 A. Nilai arus gangguan hubung singkat terbesar terjadi pada gangguan hubung singkat 3 fasa sedangkan gangguan hubung singkat terkecil terjadi pada gangguan hubung singkat 1 fasa ke tanah.

Abstract

Regulation of the Minister of Public of Works No.05 / PRT / M / 2008 has outlined the form of Green Open Space provision based on the number of people dominated by the type of park, both at the environmental level and at the city level. The park has a social and aesthetic function as a means of recreational, educational and other activities for people. This study aimed to evaluate the condition of the park and public perception of the park in Makassar. The object of this research was the parks in the city of Makassar selected by chance which represents every sub-district in Makassar. Observation of facilities and vegetation conditions was based on Regulation No.5 2008. Furthermore, some the parks' visitors were also selected as samples in this study within the framework of observing people's perceptions. Instruments used in this study was a questionnaire that contains some questions that are closed or open. This questionnaire was used in interviewing the parks' visitors. Data obtained was tabulated then analyzed descriptively. Based on the observation result, it is found that the condition of the parks does not have complete facilities, and carries aesthetic function than social and ecological function. The community also said that the parks need to improve in terms of its facilities and vegetation.
